"flopper" > "chief swings more elbows"
"david hassellhoff closet whore" > "THErapist"
"mushrooms and sauce" > "napolean dynamite wannabe, stating he has skills ...." (kobe would say .. "yeah i have skills ... numbchuck skills .. karate skills .. ball hogging skills .. elbowing skills)
"child support" > "minus shaq"

wuts wrong with kobe? cuz he's good and he knows it? cuz some chick got down on her knees for him and called it rape? cuz he smacks people like he should? cuz he dropped 81 in 3 quarters? the man is a living legend

unless he can win a playoff series without Shaq, then I would have better feelings for Kobe. in 04, they missed the playoffs with a 34-48 record. in 05, they lost to phoenix in the 1st round, and had a 45-37 record. i know that kobe needs "better" teammates, but hey! he has odom, walton(who isn't that bad at small forward. at least he knows how to play the game), and bynum(who can be a superstar). if kobe was proclaimed "great", he would make his teammates better.

what is the difference between jordan and ewing? people still hesitate to name ewing as one of the all time great centers, even though he carried the knicks to many prominent years in the 80s and 90s. he couldn't carry his team over jordan's bulls, and let reggie miller's pacers bully the knicks around in the msg. also, jordan has 6 rings. ewing has none. there have been opportunities where ewing could have raised the bar, and beat jordan, but couldn't do it.

also, jordan had "role" players, and he made them look like budding superstars. what would horace grant, bj armstrong, john paxson, stacey king, bill cartwright, jud buechler, and crew be doing if they didn't have jordan directing their team? probably a mediocre .500 team. same goes for ewing. to tell you the truth, his backup crew had better talent, such as mark jackson, derek harper, john "i lost my balls" starks, charles oakley, and anthony mason. he had larry johnson and marcus camby at a young age.

sorry to get off topic there, but i can't put kobe at the top until he does something without shaq.

Let's count the ways:

1. If he didn't rape that girl (from what I heard he did some damage to that girls budadonkadonk) then he at minimal cheated on his wife. If you're a pro athlete and get tons of women, why get married? Just be single and I don't care what you do. Oh but he bought his wife a 2 million dollar ring afterwards. Married to a money grubber, nice.

2. Selfish ball hog for years. 81 pts and.....1 assist. I appreciate the Steve Nash's of the NBA who make his teammates better. Kobe only makes himself better. He's doing a better job this year because he finally realized to some degree that he couldn't win by himself. Shaq was pretty important wasn't he.

3. Fakers are most my hated team.... love or hate with them same as the Yankees. I'm on the hate side.

4. Cheap shots already 2 times this year. Sorry man, not feeling your argument that they weren't cheap shots. They clearly were as the NBA saw as well.

5. Kobe is the most pompous, arrogant, A hole of a personality. He's so fake. Really rubs me the wrong way.

actually 3. Mike Miller, Ginobli, and Jaric.

I think actually it's when you're still a little kid (18 years old) and don't understand things like cheating on your wife, being selfish, delusional arrogance, etc. are shameful things and no matter how many buckets the guy scores, you simply can't respect an athlete like that. Just because he's a good basketball player doesn't mean you forego how they are as people. For instance... Ron Artest.

On the other hand, you have guys like Wade who are great people and awesome basketball players. I tend to prefer those types. But that's just me.

lol i was expecting a post from you after tonight's win against the nets. i was at the game. the good news: spurs won. the bad news: no eva sighting.

anyways, after watching this game, the spurs look like they have their playoff engines up and running and fine tuning the motors for april. horry is starting to get into his regular playoff gear, and ginobli was awesome tonight.

as for the nets, i just have to say this. tonight was the first time i have seen the nets, carter, jefferson, or kidd play live. the nets looked seriously frustrated right now. they cannot play as a team, and just do not look like a playoff team right now. kidd got ejected from the game, because he was bad mouthing at some officials after he thought they missed a couple of calls. lawrence frank has lost this team.

in my opinion, i think the nets should ship carter and kidd somewhere for draft picks, because i really like the future of the nets right now. they could possibly be better than the teams that made those finals runs. marcus williams, josh boone, and mikki moore looked solid tonight, especially williams after kidd got ejected. hassan adams looked like he had some potential tonight. just my opinion.

by the way, who saw that lucky 3 francis put up for the knicks against the wiz tonight? lol.

Posted by bananas on Mar-11-2007 15:27:

I saw that, I kinda like Knicks now, they're playin surprisingly good

It certainly is amusing to watch the Knicks. You never know what you're going to get out of them.

yeah what a game, definitely lived up to the hype. I'm REALLY hopin that they meet in the western conference finals

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Mar-16-2007 01:48:

if the western semifinals ends up being mavs(1)-rockets(4) and suns(2)-spurs(3), then it will be one of the most exciting conference semifinals in a very long time since the old school chicago-indiana-new york triangle, with the 4th team being gritty and tough, like charlotte, miami, or orlando.

Kleiza with career's high 29pts against lakers was fun :]
