Congrats mate
verry nice!!!!
ok bump time............
seeing this at Borders on Michigan Ave tonight really made it "sink in"... I don't know if it's available at Borders (and Barnes & Noble) outside of Chicago, but keep an eye out!

congrats man!!! It's really a great feeling to see your work on a cover.
Happened to me twice, but I don't think they were as prestigious as yours!!
Happy for you!
Nice one Rubin.
congrats rubin- must be a bit surreal seeing your works exhibited like that
thanks - yeah its weird!

hmm interesting, different then fisheye distortion, never used such lens
well, the lens does have a good amount of distortion on the wide end (Tamron 28-300 VC) but that is not what you're seeing. What you see is because its a 11-shot panoramic. And, I set the stitching mode to that effect. Could also present it without distortion, if needed. But, I liked the dramatic effect.
Here are the original images used to create that:

aha! neat
well, i said i could do it without distortion, but thats not really accurate. the reason is, its like physically impossible to present that view without some distortion. just because the field of view is so big. it does result in a fish-eye kind of effect. i dont think I explained that too well lol.

i wanna see pics of the quake :P

wtf am I talking about - that is not a fish-eye kind of effect... fish-eye would be circular.. lol.
I missed the quake.. but I feel like I woke up from it.. because I woke up right around when it happened.. but I didnt feel anything.
Beautiful pictures.. I road tripped to Chicago last summer for Lollapalooza, such a beautiful city. Chicago > NYC for me.
I was at my niece's gymnastics competition at Navy Pier. I decided to take a break and look outside, and this is what I saw. Could not believe the gradations, separations and detail of the sky. Really nice.
