Flavourful and, as the label says, smooth. Super good beer.

Courtesy to: Jennypie for recommending this one. I was lost in a world of Rickard's White... until now.

Word.

P.S. Jen, You Whore.

I'm pretty awesome at beer, imo.

Yes, Cobra is tasty indeed. A lot of Indian restaurants stock it, along with its equally tasty cousin, Kingfisher. Enjoyed a good number of both with vindaloo over the years.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jun-29-2011 18:53:

Yeah I always noticed it on the menu, but never ordered it. Decided to grab some last trip to the booze shop and was really pleasantly surprised. So delicious.

Very, very ordinary for a $4+ import. I'm surprised the SAQ is selling it for so much, considering that they have much better and less commonly-available beers at a lower price. Beer is a typical English bitter ale, nothing more nothing less. I'm probably having it too cold though.

OSH shouldn't be cold at all. In fact I can't think of any English ales, bitters etc. that should be cold.

I rather like OSH, although back in the UK it's much less than $4 a pop.

Eww. Didn't like it at all. Some of my friends swear by it, but nah, not for me.

Japanese beer is great. I used to be a religious consumer of Kirin.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-05-2011 14:03:

I used to really dislike Sapporo as well, but now I have it every time I go out for Sushi. It tastes much, much better poured into a glass than straight out of the can.

And hell yeah, Kirin Ichiban ftw.

Posted by Fledz on Jul-05-2011 14:09:

I think I've had Kirin before, but I can't remember what it tasted like. I think it was also ok. I also don't mind the odd Asahi too so Japanese beer gets a tick from me.

This is correct. If anyone has any ales or bitters sitting in the fridge, take them out and stick them in the cupboard. Any flavour an ale has will all but disappear when chilled.

I'm quite partial to a Hobgoblin myself.

Fuck yeah. Kirin + Sushi all the time.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Jul-05-2011 19:58:

the only japanese beers i've ever had are sapporo and asahi. i much prefer asahi, so i drink it whenever i get sushi. i don't really see either of them as something i'd drink at home. maybe i ought to try kirin sometime soon

Was in a small Victorian town last week for work, just happened to be the hometown of Red Duck

I completely forgot until I got to the town and saw the shop. Needless to say I filled my handluggage with bottles on the way back. I wonder what the x-ray operator at the airport was thinking when my bag went through

Just found a nearby pizza place that sells a large variety of pints, including lots of the Rogue lineup, La Fin Du Monde, Duvel, etc. I'm happy

I also recently tried a very good local-ish IPA I'll be getting at the bar more often:
