A better argument would be if cars had never been made with stereos... we'd still be able to drive as necessary but the experience would be somewhat lessend by the absence of auditory entertainment; however, we would be entirely unaware that the experience could be marginally better. |

| Originally posted by Moral Hazard I think it's pretty disingenuious to try and put the two forms of circumcision on the same level. Female circumcision generally results in a near total absence of sensation; whereas, most men who have been circumcised report an entirely acceptable level of sensation. Is it less then the sensation felt by uncircumsised men... probably; however, if it's still sufficient as to be pleasurable and these men know nothing else then it's really inconsequential. |
I'm pretty sure a circumcised female WOULD know the difference when she wonders why her male partner can have orgasms and enjoy sex, and she can't.

i have a very sensitive cock. the leakage is what i believe to be sadness for what we have done to nature.

| Originally posted by netroM Not that I know of, but your argument against female mutilation seemed to be all about its uncleanliness. My question was really if you would have supported the parents' decision if it was practised in medical offices or hospitals. It's the whole "up to the parents"-thing that is bothering me. |

well i'm officially done defending myself.. if you can't even try to understand (not agree) where i'm coming from then you have a personal invitation from me to GO FUCK YOURSELF. WITH YOUR PERFECT UNCIRCUMCISED PENIS'.
oh, you're still talking about that?

I'm not even suggesting that there is any real benefit of circumcision, but my husband personally wanted his sons penis to look the same as his, that's the reason a lot of parents do it, whether you think it is right or wrong. |

This is the last thing i am going to say about it..
It was for the reason already mentioned, which yes i guess you can say aesthetics, but my husband also believes that it is more hygienic and also that it would prevent STD's. I used to believe that until i did some reading about it and from what i understand, there is no evidence to support such a thing. It may seem strange to a lot of people, i get that. But there are a lot of strange customs out there, especially when it comes to religion and geography. I have been married for almost 6 years now.. you are not going to agree on everything. You have to pick and choose your battles and this wasn't something i felt worth arguing about. My husband felt strongly that he was doing the right thing and that is why i support him. Raising kids is hard, you try and do the best you can, make the best choices, but it's impossible to be a perfect parent. My son is fine and if he wishes he had foreskin when he was older he can talk to his father about that. I hope when you guys get married and/or start having kids that you have a lot of support, because i can tell you first hand it is challenging to say the least. If you really believe it is barbaric and torture then you are suggesting i am a terrible parent, because what kind of parent would subject their baby to torture? That's why i take it personally. I am a good parent.. both my husband an i have put our lives on hold giving our kids the best life we can. I don't think anyone in their right mind could argue that. That being said, sorry for my previous outburst, i've had a shitty day.
I don't get the "it's easier to clean a circumcised dick" bullshit that people throw around. Some of you must be rubbish at keeping yourselves clean. lrn2hygiene.
