Ok, I've been doing this protein shake shit for about two or three months. Should I give my kidneys a rest after I finish this last vat of proteinyness, or keep going a little while longer?

Posted by bas on Apr-12-2007 01:10:

My love handles don't go away. What's the deal? I do crunches, side crunches, and this lower back thing (I don't know what it's called) with and without weights. So far my stomach is flatter but the damn love handles don't go away! Is it in my diet? Am I missing something here? I may use my tax return to lipo it out

edit // Demoted, I'd think it depends on how much is left...if you've been using it for 3 months now you can probably just finish up the last week or so then give it a rest.

If you're wanting to lose weight/drop fat, you should do cardio. Crunches and so forth with make the underlying muscles bigger, but you can't see them until you actually lose the weight.

Hit the treadmill!

Been doing lots of cardio as well, maybe not enough? 20 mins a day, 4 days a week. In retrospect it's probably not enough

Depends of your caloric intake, but yeah, do some more

i think its also diet. and 20 minutes is pretty good, but try to increase that a bit. I only do one full day of cardio where I run for an hour..er so,.. then on my other 4 days I will run around 20 mins.

spot training doesn't work, if you're trying to get rid of love handles you have to decrease your body fat as that seems to be the first place your body stores it and last place your body feeds from. more cardio, perhaps a little less sodium and more lean muscle mass will help immensely.

I just throw 1 raw chicken breast, 1 egg, 1/4 pound lean ground beef, 1 cup of water, 1 cup of low-fat French Vanilla ice cream, 2 tablespoons butter, a pinch of natural sugar, 1 stalk celery and some maple syrup to taste into a blender and liquefy for 4 minutes.

I piss blood but I'm gaining muscle like a madman

You can't expect to lose all the fat in a week guys. In the long run you will lose it. Have patience and stay strong. If your concerned about the diet, try to keep the carbohydrate intake on the low and eliminate all starches from the diet. Eat healthy fat from egg yolks, red meat & vegetable oils to burn fats away.

id say as a daily meal supplement of 1 scoop in a glass of water...the stress on the kidneys shouldnt be that bad. having 6-7 2 scoop drinks a day for 3 months would warrant a breather, however.

he's so right, you will be amazed how much weight you'll lose by decreasing sodium...my mom lost 30lbs in a year by simply decreasing sodium intake, she changed ABSOLUTELY nothing else

I have a running question.

I havent been able to run since the middle of college because I have bad knees (not in every day life, just when I run). I played fastpitch in highschool and was not very kind to them back then, and now I cant run for more than five minutes without feeling like theyre going to grind away to nothing.

So my question has two parts I guess. Has anyone found a wrap or a brace that helps and isnt too restrictive? And the second part is can I do resistance exercises to help the problem (I have MDI in my shoulder and that used to help A LOT).

Im thinking that maybe I just need to ween myself back into it, maybe with the c25k program or something.

What do you guys think? Im getting sick of the elliptical.

I suggest getting a referral to an orthopedist from your doctor and ask for custom fit supports or braces for your knees. Also, Custom fit running shoes, though expensive, are worth the cost if you care about your feet, knee's, hips, and back (Which are all effected by your posture, which is determined by your feet!)
