sorry mike, icarus is right. Bandwidth does cost money, and SA was right to do what it did. now, arguably a huge cock might not have been the perfect thing to replace it with.. but, given the content on the SA website, i think it is appropriate.

why not use xilo.net to host the site? unlimited bandwidth

'Unlimited Bandwidth' does not exist, go to anyone in the industry and mention that term and watch as your ass is laughed out of the room.

It is a gimmick used to bring in the casual user who has little clue about bandwidth and doesn't bother to read the fine print on the Terms of Service / AUP. Some places are notorious for doing this - and get away with it - cuz there is a newbie born every minute.

Think about it.. why should Joe Blow Pay $1000s a month in bandwidth fees when he can get an 'unlimited' account for $50/month?

As for images raping bandwidth... its not that bad... but as long as the images have the URL of the site where it originally came from - then its not so bad if they link to them, since it is advertising in a way. Over the years there have been hundreds of places that have link stealed from me, but since I have my web address in the filename I really don't care - unless it becomes really excessive that is.
