only trance newbies like sandstorm

Good Darude tracks:
Blank And Jones - Beyond Time (Darude vs JS16)
Rising Star - Touch Me (Darude Mix)
JDS - Nine Ways (Darude Mix)

...so they're all remixes - but they're all very different from the originals and no trace of Sandstorm in any of em.

Looks like he finally found the secret to making trance...just copy somebody elses tunes and use that same pattern over and over. Within a month he'll be up there with Armin van Boring and the rest.

Posted by SYNthSRI on Apr-19-2003 11:02:

was impressed! REALLY!
One track had the signature "Darude" in it, the others, well, better than his other works!

i know tisto played it when he was in finland, but has he played it anywhere else?

anyway, i got the music cdm and next to you cdm, because i think they were worth it, but they aren't that great IMO! sandstorm still rules, even if it's totally overplayed, and some of the "darude vs. js16 remixes" are pretty good too! maybe i'll buy the album too, dunno!

This is one kick assssssss cd

Darudeeeeeeeeee is back, thank god, he got a little cheesy, each song is better than the other.

Nice and Trancey, with some chill and prog to complete it

Like the breaks in Drive and the Sandstorm beat in it

hmm... you need not judge someone by past reputation, better do so by this by what you hear

Posted by Rhythm on Apr-22-2003 01:36:

i am shocked... i enjoy the tunes!!

Posted by TrAnCeAkI on Apr-22-2003 01:49:

My guess is that since he has been writing music longer now, Darude has honed his skills, gained new knowledge and experienced, and produced a more well rounded album. If a few people sent me emails about how they thought my music was too appealing to the masses, I'd delete them and not give them a second thought.

You'd say no to shitloads of money? Yeah, right.

it's funny how everyone slagged him for using similar samples in his tracks

in all honesty i think he pulled a max graham
max sat and produced a bunch of tracks using similar samples, he was just trying to learn a new piece of equipment he got
anyway, the label decided to release the songs over time, so it sounded like he was being lazy with his work and just re-hashing the same old samples over and over when he really did all of them within a couple of weeks

i'm wondering if the same thing happened to darude

Hi!

I really like this new Daruda's album & new Daruda's sound.
Most tracks from Rush very nice & sounds like Above & Beyond, but anyway very good works.

ROTFLMAO!

Posted by UWM on Apr-22-2003 20:09:

WTF?

This is quality stuff. Did top notch producers do all the production and put it under the Darude alias? Varying from uplifting to progressive to melodic.

I'm stunned.

:WTF

When I found out that Darude and DJ Sammy were at least partially responsible for 2 tracks i really enjoyed in Tiesto's recent Global DJ Broadcast I thought I must have been going insane. So after getting the set and listening again I have to say that these tracks really are good. Maybe these guys can produce? What is the world coming to?!?!

Posted by Sirocco on Apr-22-2003 20:28:

what dj sammy song did he play lol?

Posted by Ste on Apr-22-2003 20:31:

its ok for darude. but theyre far from "good" tracks IMO

Posted by Sirocco on Apr-22-2003 20:33:

have u heard bitter sweet, i find it chicane-esque prolly better!

I think he meant he'd delete the emails, not the music. As in he wouldn't care and release the tracks regardless.

As for this new Darude album, all of these positive reviews are really quite surprising, considering that this is Darude we're talking about here.
