I heard that those who bought their tickets at $65 instead of $50 would get reimbursed, because admission.com messed up at first with the pricing. I'd call back and bitch them out for screwing things up in the first place. They only had that price for about one day I think.

I now see tickets are 50$ + fees. I phoned addmissions and they told me that the producer decided to lower their price and theres nothing they can do. So I phoned the aria number on my ticket and its all automated .. I cant speak to anyone there. I am very very pissed off right now and I think I should get my money back. any ideas?

really? I just saw yesterday that they are still going for 50 bucks on admission.com

paying almost 70 dollars is pretty steep.

Sounds like a plan and thanks for the offer. Thing is...I won't be driving. If I can convince my friends to go (one of them really wants to), then it'll be one of them driving. Sometimes they can be thick headed and won't liste to me. Seriously, if it wasn't for me, they would not have found the Guvernment in Toronto. I kept explaining to them....you go SOUTH on Yonge street and then EAST on Queen's Quay. Silly boys.

I'll know within a week or so if I'm going. This one sounds like a party for the ages.

1800 people sure sounds like a good number but it doesn't feel good at all, I spent most of PVD's set in the chill room, there was no room to move.... I'm afraid for this night

Posted by j@y on Apr-24-2003 01:31:

ravemeister if there are less than 1800 then ticket prices must be higher than 75% and besides would you think a great great party would involve emptiness and almost no vibe ?

Posted by ravemeister on Apr-24-2003 06:11:

All I'm saying is that Biggy said he wasn't going to overpack the place for big parties anymore. At PVD, I thought it was too packed, no room to move, and it can only be worse with the lineup to come...I love to dance to trance and if I can't do it at Aria, might as well lock myself in my car, pour some nasty water on my head, put a cd on and have a similar experience, yes no?? That's just my 2 cents.

Samething happened to me, but i bought 4 tickets (this was about a month and half ago). Called Admission.com ... and they're stupid idea was send the tickets back, and they'll give me a refund, but then i would have to repurchase tickets at $50 each. What if these tickets i send back somehow get lost in the mail???? I'd be fucked... i don't understand why they can't just credit the extra $$ they charged me to my credit card.

Biggy respected his promess , i don't think you've ever seen Aria super mega packed to compare with last thursday. and as i said if you are ready (and everybody else) to throw more than 75 bucks i'm sure Aria wouldn't mind having only let's say 1400 peeps inside , but then again people will complain and say "it was a bit empty , too much space to dance , no vibe , why was it empty ? etc ..." and lots of fan will be deceived because they couldn't check their favourite dj because of the high priced tickets.

I hope you understand that we are talking about super star djs where there are also people who don't know what electronic music but they still come because they heard "this dj name" somewhere (on internet of course hehe).

U THOUGHT PVD WAS OVERPACKED ???

Am i the only one who thought it wasn't that bad ??

We had lots of room to dance ( ok i danced on a table but SO WHAT ??? I DID DANCE ! ) + if u wanted place ... u just had to go to the place who used to be the vip .. u would have a lot of place to dance believe me

You should all stop whinning and appreciate the fact that Aria brings the dj's we all want to know. If you're to fucking dumb to understand that ... one way or another Biggy can't afford to loose money 'case some idiots don'T want the club to be overpacked. Shit make some calculations ... you'll see .. he's not making money with that night .... hell i'm pretty sure he'll loose some. If u don't want a club too overpacked for tiesto ... than hang yourself ... any self respecting club WILL overpack the club for big dj's such as Tiesto Pvd, Picotto , sasha , diggers Oakie and all those HUGE DJ'S. Shit can u remember Sasha and diggers last time in mtl ?? @ Sona ?? it was so Rammed that we could ardly move. Shit Biggy's the only club owner that has the guts to limit those nights. Even stereo ( no offence to stereo as i think it is the second best club in mtl ) Has rammed the club for dj's like Deep dish and Danny tenaglia. IT'S A NORMAL THING ! I u want to see Tiesto + Ornadel + Armin Van Buuren in a club wich is not Overpacked ... it means that you are never gonna see those three dj's on the same night in your life .. OR if u do .. it is because you are listening to them on your computer and thinking that you are smarter because u didn't had to pay and you are not in a onverpacked club.. THEN FUCK U ... I PREFER BEING IN AN OVERPACKED CLUB WITH A FUCKIN GREAT VIBE THAN STANDING ALONE IN AN HALF EMPTY/NO VIBE CLUB !!!

Anyhow ... GET A FUCKIN LIFE, STOP WHINNING, GIVE SOME CREDITS TO THOSE WHO DESERVE IT !!!!

I'm sorry to all i WILL offend with that post ... but it needed to get out of my body !!!

I DON'T REGRET A WORD I'VE JUST SAID !!!

Krinker, a lot of it has to do with safety as well. Regardless of the specific fire code stipulations, the owner HAS to know how many people can safely and comfortably fit in the venue. The only way s/he will do this is by listening to the club's patrons....and if they are saying it's too packed, but the club would stand to LOSE money on the entire event by allowing fewer people in, maybe the club shouldn't be bringing in those particular DJs!

I'm not saying this is the case with Aria....but in principle, a club has to respect the safety and comfort of its patrons even if this means making a few less dollars on the event. Just because people are crazy and will go to ANY venue for any price and endure any amount of discomfort to see a DJ spin doesn't mean the club should let them.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Apr-24-2003 14:00:

Well....I was at the Kool Haus for Tiesto in December last year. I've heard that it was actually comfortable near the back, but the middle and the front (I was at the VERY front about 8 feet away from God) were dangerously cramped. I was on my tippy toes being crushed into the sub woofers by STUPID people behind me. I woke up the next day with bruises all over my chest. It was a little stuffy in there too, not hot, but not enough circulation. I didn't feel very safe at all, though I still had a blast. Finally, I just pushed back and let all the surging idiots know I wasn't taking any shit. It was actually quite comfortable for Ferry in March though.

But anyway, I think huge events should be capped at a reasonable level. If Aria can only fit 2400 safely (or whatever their cap is), then let in 2000 or 2200 and charge a bit extra. I'd certainly be wiling to pay $10 more to have room to dance, be able to get to the front and feel safe about it.

Posted by Czaoth on Apr-24-2003 14:56:

Krinker, we all have our own opinions and priorities as to how things should be. That should be respected even if you don't agree. You shouldn't have to talk to someone like that to get your point across. Anyhow....

I wasn't at PVD so i can't comment. Bottom line though, you can't expect to be in front of the DJ and have alot of room. As long as there is space to dance freely somewhere in the club at any time, i think Biggy's promise of 1800 people has worked in creating a better environment for us to party in.

As for less people = less vibe i don't agree unless it's REALLY empty.
I find the vibe at it's best when people have room to dance and bust their special styles, expressing themselves thru dancing instead of being sardined in a sweat pit, feeling like you are in a mosh pit and just kind of dancing in small controlled movements because you don't want to hit people. I don't buy the if it ain't packed the vibe ain't great philosophy.

Posted by Ortemy on Apr-24-2003 15:12:

Aria was not packed at all! I could move arround, dance. It was a bit hot, but that's also common thing for nights like this. U guys who say it was packed never been to Guvernment when any big dj is playing there ,then u'd know what is packed. When it's a big dj it has to be a lot of people coming to see him, otherwise the promoter will never book this dj again. After all it's business, and this how promoters make money.
