i think the tracklisting is ok, maybe could have been better...can't wait to hear those Sultan tunes
Putting 'Nothing' on there is a questionable call
This is going on almost a year in rotation already
Hmm, I'd say the best ones are Sasha 013, Digweed 014, Seaman 016... and Oakenfold -NYC (#002 in America) was good for its time... (and still good today)
I've heard samples of the newest Nick Warren at FYE's demo kiosk thing, and it was incredible. I d/led Yewmenyst and it's my favorite track at the moment now... I'm gonna DEFINITELY buy it as soon as I get some bucks.

unless this was posted on GU and confirmed, then it's fake. There's NO WAY in hell that Deep Dish are putting Nothing and Breezer on there. Those tunes are completely deviant of their style, and they're OLD. And I'm willing to bet that those 2 weren't even spun during the recording party back in December, so it wouldn't make sense for them to put it on the compiliation.
Plus, the cd features the new P. Diddy track (ugh, so is this the future of prog? "Global Underground 31; featuring the latest Nellie hit, as well as an EXCLUSIVE rework of LL Cool J's collaboration with Jan Johnston). thank god for DJ's like Nick Warren that strive to expose those who would otherwise not have their shit heard.

I dont know about the tracklist but i do know this.
There will be the normal GU 25 Double CD, but also after a couple of weeks they will release 2 single cds.
They will be called. GU25 Toronto Sharam (Afterparty Mix) and GU25 Toronto Dubfire (Afterparty Mix)
So all in all a nice 4 cd GU set, should be nice

Deep Dish�s second Global Underground set is all about confounding expectations � expectations about what this music sounds like, about where the best places to hear it are, about who makes it.
Two years ago, their 2001 Moscow mix demonstrated a harder edge. Now this Toronto CD collection represents a switch towards a deeper, yet still steely sound that never loses its fat-bottomed funk. And it showcases tracks from a new wave of Canadian house talent that illustrate just how creative � and cosmopolitan - a city Toronto is.
There have been seismic upheavals in dance music in the last year with many commentators talking about a slump as super-clubbing declined. But with this album, Deep Dish put the attention back on the music. This was one reason for choosing the unexpected Toronto as a location. �We felt that Canada had been neglected for a long time,� says Deep Dish�s Sharam Tayebi. �There�s been resurgence of Canadian producers. Luke Fair, Sultan, Tone Depth, Max Graham. These guys are doing some amazing stuff. That on top of the fact that we have a good following there.�
His partner Ali Shirazinia � aka Dubfire - concurs. �When we say Toronto we�re really saying Canada. We�ve met a lot of talented people and great promoters. We jumped at the chance to shine the light on them.�
The Canadians returned the compliment when Deep Dish headlined the Global Underground party there. More than 6,000 jammed their way into Toronto�s vast, futuristic Guvernment club. Deep Dish may have taken a deeper turn musically, but as the Guvernment show demonstrated, energy-wise there�s nothing missing. The well-muscled grooves on show here ripple with strength. �Things have changed musically. Things have gotten housier,� says Ali. �We just shifted gears a little. Sort of going back to the essence of house music � which for us has always been pushing it forward and experimenting, but there�s got to be that layer of smoothness and funk and melody and soul.�
Consequently CD1 is a proper house mix of luscious, deeply funky grooves and spacey vocals. Deep Dish tweak the wayward bass of Meat Katie�s remix of Stephane K�s �Numb� with an urgent vocal from Julie McKnight. Electroland�s �Drop Beat� flutters iron wings over subterranean rhythms. Montreal artists Sultan & The Greek contribute the hustling grooves and Middle Eastern synth swoops of �Rezin�. And you can hear similar Arabic whisperings in Sultan�s solo track, �Nightvisions�, shivering like ghosts in the groove.
For CD2, Deep Dish up the stakes with a mix of riveting grooves, hot spooky vocals, strange whistles, scary sweeps, alien whistles and shrieks. Situation 2WO�s �Situation Way2tite� is a bouncing ball of a record with a husky female vocal. Sander Kleinenberg�s �Work To Do� is a punishing funk workout with a raw, soul vocal. Paul Rogers� �Crafty� soups up its hi-NRG engine with what sounds like the distorted whistles of distant steam trains. And Maurice and Noble�s �Hoochi Koochi� has a spangly, U2-ish guitar and solemn voice bursting into a thumping groove that flows like a river.
It�s a self-assured mix from a DJ/producer duo on top of their game. The two Iranian-Americans are using their influence to bring a Middle Eastern influence to the world�s dance scene in a way that can only be positive.
�Toronto� is also a milestone in Global Underground�s history as this is the 25th expedition in the label�s journey around the world. To mark the occasion we are releasing two additional single CD�s two weeks after the main release. Toronto - The Afterclub Mix will come in two versions � one by Dubfire, the other by Sharam, featuring both old tracks and new that define their individual sounds.
This Toronto mix represents a global house style that is futuristic and still timeless. Scorching, sexy underground grooves, never hamming it up for the gallery, never losing their sense of soul and melody. Who said dance music was in trouble? If you ask Deep Dish, it�s just a much-needed shakedown.
�It�s a cleansing that needed to happen and only the strong will survive,� says Sharam. �Which I think is a good thing. The tree needs to be shaken and all the dead leaves drop. It puts new space for the future leaves.� Somehow, Canada seems like a good place to be planting trees.
