the song that got me into electronic music in general was orbital halcyon+on+on (hence the name ) but the song that got me into trance was flaming june and that opened the flood gates

DuMonde - Never Look Back (Original Mix)(Just Talking)

to this day i still love this song.

Before this, there was "rave" on kazaa. you know, when you type "techno/trance/rave" and you get "THE BEST GODDAMNED RAVE SONG EVER" as the results? yeah. that crap.

Opus III - Fine Day (ATB Mix)

all the eurodance cd's when i was in junior high, then george acosta - awake (wicked cd) was the album that got me loving trance, i was major into hip-hop, and breaking and shit, went to my first rave just to break, end ended up just jammin to deepsky cuz they were doing live drums and just blew my socks off.

I have to disagree with that........Everywhere in Europe that music was played....I know for a fact it was in Greece and Italy...

I can't remember exactly what was the tune got me into electronic music.. it was over 16 years ago anyway. Might have been
Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygene or Kraftwerk - Autobahn or some Westbam tune..

Orbital, The Prodigy, Sven Vth, Cosmic Baby and others came in the early 90s. I've never really listened much of the eurodance stuff.

A few of the first tunes got me into trance were Zyon - No Fate and Orbital - Halcyon + On + On from '92, and of course Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar and Humate - Love Stimulation in '93. There were so many good ones back in the day it's hard to recall which was the very first one. Maybe i'm just getting too old to remember.

Hmm.. to be exact, that's not a mix of the Opus III version, just the same tune but the real title should be Miss Jane - It's A Fine Day (ATB Club Mix).

Oh yeah, I forgot about Prodigy. I first heard "Breathe" and then picked up a copy of "The Experience," which is probably what got me into electronica in general first. Then I picked up Swedish Egil's Elektronik and heard Ajare and Anomaly (Calling Your Name). I took off from there, which was sometime over five years ago (of course that's nothing compared to some people here ).

Posted by Dark Apostle on Apr-30-2003 14:35:

For me it all began with the synthesiser compilations in 1989

Vangelis - To The Unknown Man
R. Hner - Autobahn (with the great vocal: bababa...autobahn)
J.Hammer - Crocketts's Theme

aah the good ol' times

I used to love synth when I was like 9-11 yrs old... The likes of Vangelis, Jarre and Jeff Wayne introduced me to electronica.

My strong love for trance grew a few years ago, with Barber's Adagio for Strings FC Remix

Posted by clubcashu on Apr-30-2003 18:18:

For me, it was the entire Prodigy 'Experience' album, but the one song that brought me all the way into EDM was "Around the World" by Daft Punk.

They're kind of like better sounding midi... a very basic sampling sequencer like frooty loops. I had a few electronic ones I had downloaded and enjoyed, and I was broadcasting them over my small... 10 person shoutcast station. One of the listeners sent me an ICQ saying 'What is this stuff? I bet if you like these songs, you'd like this even more:"

He sent me KayCee - Escape.... And the rest is history.

P.S. http://www.modarchive.com has a huge selection of Mods if you're curious to know what I'm talking about.
