-- Which country is the best for success in DJ-ing?

I'm kinda confused...DJing as in turntablism, or dance music?
In terms of dance music, the US will always be referred to as the 'Mecca' of dance simply because it originated here. As for the scene's stregnth, I don't think anything can compare to Holland, Germany, and the UK simply because dance music is the #1 industry over there...it seems to have a really unique blend of musical meaning and good business, which is very rare today(MTV anybody?)
In terms of turntablism and tru DJing, I think it's safe to say taht unanimously the US has been on top, is on top and will continue to stay on top for a long long time.
As far as Italy bashing goes, that's pure ignorance. What other country besides Israel produces songs with a unique style diverging from cookie-cutter big room anthems...Italy. Their style of dirty and rough techno fused with a little side of trance makes them the most exciting "type" of trance these days with an overload of schlock hand-in-the-air anthems that we are guilty and accusomted to worshipping(even me )
But in the end it all comes down to the music, and that's all that matters. US or UK, as long as there are people like us, I don't think it really matters what country has the most success.
If you ask me, success in music is understanding what it is. And I think that everybody fits that, no?
Just my 2c's.

Uuhhhh no...I don't know where you read your sources from, but UK and Holland ARE NOT the birth places of dance music. They are the places where dance music is most popular and strong as of right now.Original disco led way to techno and house in Detroit. All electronic music finds it's roots somewhere along the lines of house and detroit techno.
And just because the US doesn't have Armin or Oakenfold or whatever doesn't mean it aint the Mecca....what I meant by that is that the US is dance music's homeland, not where it's most popular. Are you kidding me? Just turn on the TV and tell me where you would find electronica being broadcasted over Ja Rule or MTV bullshit. Of couse it's not the most popular.

We don't care about where it started...
The point of this topic is to know in which country the DJ-ing business is the most successful.

We're not saying that there's no scene in America... just that its more concentrated in Europe which explain why we think some countries there had more success than anywhere else.

I think this really depends what your goals are.

I just want to get to the point where I can do the occasional gig, purely for the music.

Once you start headlining in Ibiza you know your 'made'.

UK, Holland, & Germany. Point, Blank, and Simple.

Im just starting to DJ now, learning all the basics, and when I get good and start landing gigs on a regular basis in NYC, I will start to travel and see what I can do in countries like I posted above.

I want to land a gig in Webster Hall in NYC.
For now thats as far as my dream will take me.
