i like to start with either:
Slam - Visions (Vitalic remix); or
Umek - Jakaton
Best intro song IMO
DJ Danjo and Rob Styles - Aragon (Intro Mix)
Awesome intro song, perfect to start a set with.
Pareez
Haak - Pulling Strings
Very soothing and calm, probably the best intro I've heard for a song. And the first minute or two provide some really good transition points. Absolutely love this track. And of course I can't forget to mention that it is the work of a fellow TA.
Shmoo - Sophisticated
At first, there are all sorts of interesting sounds running around...and then it hits you. Pretty dark tune...love it to death
Oliver Klein feat. Tom Hingley - Shakedub
Just like Sophisticated, provides some pretty neat and dark sounds to start with. Sort of sets the mood pretty quickly. Hard and nasty...a great intro. And then things really get moving.
i think these would be alright for intro:
4 strings - diving (hiver & hammer remix)
sasha vs junkie xl - beauty never fades
delerium - lamentation
shpongle - flute fruit
genetica - the nazarean
altitude - tears in the rain/marrakech
and anything that has a distinct intro to the track itself other than just the beat starting straight away...
How can u pll miss out dj tiesto magik journey.
Kai Tracid - Follow me Freely
James Holden - Solstice
Dj Nukem vs Chab - Wanted
Atlas - Compass Error (Tarrentella vs Redanka Remake)
Lenny Kravitz - Believe In Me (Shane 54 Mix)
Indiana - Do you hear me (Dino Lenny mix)
Greed Feat. Lesley - Strange World (Lemon 8 Remix)
Pappa & Gilbey - Void
Mark Lowndes - Disillusions
Bluephaze - The Bell (Ocean Wave Remix)
Dallas Kiss - Revelation (Blackwatch Quattro Mix)
Powerplant - With Or Without You (Blackwatch Orient Point Remix)
Highland - No Way Out [Loafer vs The Light Remix]
and many that i dont remember right now..
These are what i like to play as the first track of a set.. Especially for sets that start as progressive than ends up with trance which is my style...
For a fully trance set , many of them are already mentioned here like Project Medusa - Moonshine or Human Evolution ..........

BEST INTRO TRACK EVER!!!
What do u guys think are the best intro songs that start out with no bass and then build up to a bass drop.
My list so far is:
DJ Tiesto - Magik Journey
Junk Project - Braintool (intro for PVD @ Rosenmontags)
Airwave - Another Dimension (Original Mix)
BT - Dreaming (Tiesto remix)
Paul Oakenfold - Dream of Trance
Project Medusa vs. Exor - Moonshine (Exor II Mix)
Anything by Digital Blonde virtually can be used as an intro tune, he really does put an effort into his beginnings
