mndeg... i'm sorry for ever doubting you. i just scouted this tune uner my vast mp3 collection, and i must say, you're absoluteley right. this tune is an exact duplicate of nyana or vice versa given the fact that this came out before. regardless, i love this tune and nyana.

ummm.....no way. I just listened to that track. and to me, it sounds nothing like Sirius or Nyana, I think you are way off on that one.

dj tisto - suburban train

so there you have it, he's a total asshole if you want. i think he's great and all the tunes that i listed kick ass very much. but whatever!

mm hmm....and if you guys would actually BUY In My Memory, you'd see that Tiesto gives full credit for Suburan Train to Ronald Van Gelderan (Kid Vicious). It was produced by BOTH of them...even Magik Journey was done with Geert Huinik and Sparkles, Theme From Norfejell with Cor Fijneman.

And....I just listened to both the Sirius remix and then Nyana and I don't hear this "similarity" at all.

oh ffs! i do have the album, and i really bought it! i really buy music insted of just downloading it! no need to slag me off for something i didn't do! and if you didn't notice that i was being sarcastic, then read again! i never said that it wasn't co-produced by kid vicious did it?

Idea

Sorry about bringing a "RIP-OFF"-thread back to life, but this goes out to all the people waiting for the nyana single: Just get Subtle by Design - Sirius (DJ Tiesto Remix), it's practically the same song, just with some added piano. And it's not just the Tiesto Remix that sounds much the same, I also checked the Angel Mix of the track, and you easily hear the main theme of Nyana going on in the back. The breakdowns are alike as well, actually quite sweet

No, I'm not after an apology by anyone, and I'm sure Tiesto will give Subtle by Design much credit when/if he releases Nyana.

I think Subtle by Design - Sirius (DJ Tiesto Remix) is much better than Nyana anyhow. And overall Sirius is just decent, not fantastic.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Jul-31-2003 19:35:

If you think those two sound alike, why don't you check out Suburban Train and then the Tiesto remix of Kid Vicious - Reform!!!

Suburban Train, to me, is still a great track, but it's still just a remix of a Ronald Van Gelderan track and not a Tiesto original.

I have been saying Nyana is very very similar to Sirius the moment I heard it. IMO sirius is WAY better than Nyana, Nyana is just meh, no build, no real emotion imo. Sirius kills it. (ever since I heard PvD drop it...been loving it)

BALLS!

Is it cool now to start rip-off threads? I realize this one is old, but figured now's as good a time as any to ask.

Am I the only one who doesn't care if one song ripped off another? Thread is started, people disagree or agree, thread disappears. Doesn't solve anything does it?

Posted by timmyboy2 on Aug-01-2003 21:57:

Be Cool! I agree that it sounds the same

I took 4 years of piano lessons and the melodies of both songs are exactly the same I can almost play them by ear

nyana could've been released along with shandar back in 97.....its plastic synths has no drive and the whole tune has no real buildup or similarities to musical talents....

if the track nyana wasn't by tiesto no one would've thought it was any good....

don't get me wrong, i love most of tiesto's productions....even urban train!!!!! but this track i do not like because it sucks. neither do i like the tiesto remix of sirius....

shut up and put on my flamesuit, i will

Are you a Star Wars geek? You talk like Yoda.

Nyana is a good energy tune...great for the dance floor. It has a buildup, but in my opinion, it comes to early and climaxes two or three minutes before the song ends and never reaches that climax again. Oh well.....I like the track.

Sirius IS fantastic.
The artists "Subtle By Design" have REAL talent in music... unlike Tiesto.
I heard "Sirius" over 2 years ago and instantly fell in love with it. It's such an emotional track... truly "emotional" is the right word for it. Not like some of the recent trash discussed here.

Now the way I see things is very simple. There are people who are musically talented, those who no matter what are innovative and produce something new to fascinate us, and those who are "wannabes."

If you want an example of a truly talented producer, I can give you one. Accuface. This guy (Marlon Jurs) manages to write something incredibly great every time. Listen to every track he's written, how all of his music is creative and beams with talent. Listen to "Outerspace Energy" by him, or any other track. The same level of pro sound can be heard from Subtle by Design. It's no accident that I brought up Accuface; he's German. And so is the Subtle by Design project.

Tiesto, on the other hand, is a wannabe. He does not have TRUE musical talent. Maybe he can string together a few chords by experimenting... maybe he knows a few fx and knows how to feel the beat. I'm not denying that. But as a musician? No. He ain't got it. Sorry. The remix of Delirium was probably the only good thing to have come out from him.

I'm not surprised, therefore, that he basically ripped it off "Sirius"...

^^^^^^^ Tiesto hater.

Tiesto doesn't have musical talent my ASS! Have you ever listened to any of the Allure tracks or Gouryella, Kamaya Painters, etc?? Tiesto is a very skilled trance producer.....if you think he has not talent, then neither does PvD, Ferry, Armin, etc.

Dumbass.

hahaha! yeah sure the number 1 DJ in the world, probably the first one ever in two consecutive years, is a wannabe

The original tune Sirius was a mediocre track with lack of energy but with the potential to be a good tune because of its main melody. Tiesto remixed it and created the secondary melody, resulting an absolute stormer, probably his best remix out there. However he used the melody he created in his Sirius remix for Nyana, with an even more elegant, deep and epic twist that will surely make it the tune of the year, if it is released soon.

wow...it pays to read! Someone already mentioned that...Tiesto gives credit to Ronald Van Gelderan on IMM.

Anyways....this thread is hella old, but since it's reborn, yes Nyana does sound a lot like Sirius...

but who cares? Both are mint tracks...

yes, I KNOW he gives credit to R.V.G. on the CD (I have it), but so many people think S. Train is an original Tiesto production.....but it just isn't. It's nothing more than a remix of his own remix, which was a remix of an original work.

it's not tiesto's fault if people think its his production. They just have to read he credits.

you're kinda making it out as if I'm one of the thousands of Tiesto haters on here. Well, I'm not. I still listen to Suburban Train and I still love Tiesto. But some of his productions just weren't all that original, but I'm fine with it, because he usually vastly improves the songs he takes inspiration from.
