yet again I was laughing at the concept of him owning a vinyl, not the choice in track, as it's not a bad track.....
and the "who the fuck are you" comment regarded the fact I've never ever seen you post before, so was wondering why you felt the need to say that. Altho looking back, you mentioned me bashing PvD, so I probably offended you in someway in a PvD post.
Not that I care, if you're lame enough to get worked up about my comments on the Vandit gimps, your opinions going to mean shit to me

i have had enough of your crap, you use this comment against me everytime! get your FUCKING FACTS right... i did play in front of fucking 6,800 people!...I will be 17 is 3 months...so wrong there too. I get 0days, yes, but that is a perk of my job (vinyl/cd ripper) you really have no idea who i know ow how good of a dj i am live, or what kind of person i am. so before you can find this out, please leave me alone! and don't reply with a stupid ONE-liner sly ass remark. they dont work anymore.

This song is terrible, me and my boyfriend actually laughed out loud at how bad it is when we first heard it

The vocals are ridiculous and ruin what could be a good song. A dub mix would be okay but even then its nowhere near as good as Ferry's earlier stuff

and remember kids 'the sky is a safety net for those who feel lost... in the belly of the universe, theres a spaceman to the scene!' woohoo!

re: spaceman

I liked the melody... and production is great.. but yeah I think I'd enjoy a dub better as well.. not that the songs is bad...the vocals just are kind of distracting... Corsten has done some tracks like ligaya that are ok with female vocals.. but i dont like these... Ignition Start Sequence! is a great track on the together album though! l8ers

Thats exactly what I thought when I first heard the track. It has a Cosmicman remix under his real name though, which is pretty good anyway.

Edit: After reading some posts in this thread I feel I need to say that, we're discussing Spaceman here and not the thread starter. We're not going to make assumptions about him and how he has obtained this track, rather we will discuss Spaceman

wow.

i dont know any of you guys personally really, nor do i think your personal life has any bearing on whether or not this song is good or not. some of you are a bit agressive, and thats your style, no big deal, but its all a little strange to me to poke at a stranger in an internet forum

clarification on my opinion of cheese-
when someone calls a track cheesy they are saying firstly that the track is cheap, it relies on a consistent sound that is often not SUBTLE, original, or complex. cheesy indeed also implies a low level of quality, but the poorness of quality is not really in production skill or sound.

for me, i liked the first song i heard with what are now considered cheesy vocals. most people these days consider vocals cheesy when they rely on that cheap technic of making every word sound like its telling some Epic story. cheesy synths are usually the same-ol saw tooth synth highly filtered and running in 1/16 notes. any other part of a song can be cheesy. most people liked that stuff at some point, but its like when a movie just does over the top stupid stuff to be funny...at some point it just stops being interesting. its not that its not as good as the original tracks that came out with the same sounding synths, its that it is similar and the people in this community, enthusiasts, are disappointed when they think a quality producer is relying on a cheap technique to make a track.

there is indeed some bandwagoning going on where people are just calling anything they dont like cheese and anything that they hear someone else call cheese the same, but some of the times people have a point. as i said above, i like cheesy tracks sometimes too, but they are less and less appealing. and as i said 2 pages ago, i think ferry knows this stuff is cheesy (he probably wouldnt call it that ), and thats why its under the alias SF. fans of SF want an SF sounding track. the original SF sound has been reproduced so much, its now cheesey. its a shame, but its true.

do you really think he needed to release a vocal cut of Ligaya?

just my two bits. dont mean to step on any toes, i just wanted to defend those of us who are rationally deciding something is cheesy. flame away.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i think its an implication that the MP3 was ripped the day the actual production was released. in general, i think it means mp3s of tracks released within like a week or so and prereleases. new stuff.

I agree as well.Without the vocals it would have been a nice ferry trancer.I don't normally mind "cheesy" vocals but the lyrics on this are just ridiculous and cringeworthy and almost as bad as some of scooter's efforts.Hopefully there will be a dub mix but matti's mix isn't bad though.

thats it im PMing adminsitrators about you. You never leave me alone. You use humor as a cover up so you cant answer my questions. ok, funny man, we will see....

Posted by Nell on May-15-2003 00:13:

lololol.

sirocco, if he annoys you or whatever, just ignore him. you look like the loser when you respond all offended. i see where Az is comming from, as from my perspective you do seem to brag a little about your 0 day releases!? it does seem ironic you would obtain a vinyl when you have all these mp3s.

Also the 6,800 people!?! i see this as unbelievable considering you were asking people how to mix on the hub less thatn 6 months ago, promoting what was a very poorly constructed set. how the hell did you suddenly shoot to stardom? if you show me a video of you playing ill believe you or.. if 10 ta's confirm this. not that you need to proove anything, your obviously l33t enough with '0' days.

Posted by arturob on May-15-2003 00:14:

hey Az,

would you mind stopping this flaming and attacking on Sirocco. It think you should let people live and be, and if you have a problem with it, just ignore.

6 months ago? way longer than that! it wasnt stardom, it was a lucky oppertunity i got to spin in a local college gynasium for a dance.
when is the last time i did brag tho?

"it does seem ironic you would obtain a vinyl when you have all these mp3s."

HOW DO YOU THINK I GET THE MP3S? You think I get them just like that? I have to rip vinyl before everyone else in order to get them!

Posted by arturob on May-15-2003 00:33:

ffs.

stop talking about ripping vinyl and 0days on this board ffs! geez. when will you all learn. do you see other members bragging what they have? no ! hrhrhr!!
