i had a great time last night, Christopher destroyed guv... crowd was really good too, and although it wasn't too packed, it was way too hot in the main room... all in all, a pretty good night...

What a great night!
many thanks to shaya for being DA MAN!!
and to tatgirl for being da bestest person

Chris lawrence was good(didnt know what to expect) but mark is.....well mark!! Excellent set towards the end!

Great night, great tunes. I was a little tired from Friday, but I still enjoyed it - dairy-free sets! I was there with a friend from Vancouver who'd never been to the Guv (or any real superclub) before, so he was impressed, although he did make the same observations I've made about the majority of the crowd (bleh).

Met up with Nat, Mike, and Jenna, which was cool. Trancegeek, didn't run into you there, would've said hi otherwise. I heard that Walter was there too, didn't see him though. I would not have recognized the other TAs that were there, but as long as ya liked Chris, that's what's important - this guy needs a bigger following on TA!!

On a side note, I thought the place was insanely crammed from about 2 to 5 - it was taking me over 10 minutes just to get to the bathroom. However, I'm glad that so many people came out to see Lawrence and many were actually dancing!

I also wasn't impressed with the dorks sniffing coke and selling G in the chillout. E is one thing, but that bugs me. Maybe this is a regular occurrence, but it's the first time I noticed it... ah well, 'twas a great night all around, we had lots of fun there.

What did I do? LOL! Saw u for a split second, but regardless, thanks for the compliment!

Decent TA turnout, but it seemed like we were all scattered at times. In attendance: High Spirit, TranceXtacy, cuzo, diginut, DJ MG, Jenna Rae & Mike, Walter Mindz, Kevin Earth, shaya007, nismodreams, diet cocaine, TranceGeek & bliss'ntrance. OH! I was walking thru the Drink, and some girl stopped in her tracks when she saw me- turns out it was Andora Star and she recognized me from all the pics. LOL!

Christopher Lawrence went on just after 1am, and he was done by 3:20am. His set seemed like it took a bit to pick up to the pace I wanted to hear, but when he dropped some tracks off his Exposure IV cd, things really got moving. Can't ID anything that isn't on his cd (typical of his sets), and the tunes were good, but I just wanted to sit and chat with everyone (just the mindframe I got into). Still, it was a better set than his last time here at the Guv. This was the most crowded I've seen the Guv in a while. Place was crawling with those creepy Indian dudes who hit on you week after week, and don't even remember if they've hit on you 5 min's earlier. When u reject them, they move onto your friend 3 inches away. ~ I shivver~

Highlight of the nite was, once again, Mark Oliver. Did he EVER bang it out! Highlight tunes for me were hearing BXR tunes "Strance"- DJ Arabesque vs. Jakyro, and "Trip on the Moon"- Paola Peroni. Got to observe Mark on the decks for 20 mins, and let me tell you- it was mindboggling! The way he had 3 records going on the decks for so long, using both sides of the vinyls, doing that little 'rewind' thing over the tune repeatedly. Very, very impressed!

Went to Adrian's for the after party, tried to make it to the Om Fest volunteer meeting (so I can save $70 on entry), made an illegal left turn on Bay St. cuz I thought it was ok on Sundays, got a $90 ticket. At least the cop was really nice and told me to appeal it in traffic court. My sketchy ass had him laughing at my stupidity over numerous bungles- if only he knew.... Even had a funny chat about my license plates. In the end, i was late to meet my friend for the Om training meeting, and by the time she actually called me, I was already back home, unwilling to leave. Bleh! Not looking forward to paying full price to go....

and I STILL need a nap.....!!!!!

missed CL again ... heopfully next time he's be playing in a larger venue .. ie. KH or outdoors someplace ! otherwise i guess i'm juss gonna have to catch him on some tropical island one day instead..

I think maybe he's talking about WEMF...

I like the small venues the best though... like the System VIP room... (hint hint)

But of course it doesn't matter what size venue - the only important thing is that the sound system is bangin'!

dun u remember those vids on his site .. i yearn to see him someplace like that !

I'm just being petty and questioning the quote he made. If Em didn't attend his set at the Guv, what difference would it make if he were right next door in the KH? And if he didn't make a simple trip downtown, I doubt he's gonna make the expensive trek to a tropical island to see him. Does this also mean you are boycotting any other dj's unless they play at the KH or until the day u can go to the magical tropical isle?

Sorry- it's just the lawyer in me that's bring argumentative.
Sorry.

some lawyer YOU are! don't you know how much it meant to me to try and see him the other nite ~! school is raping me right now doing 4 summer classes not to mention having to still go to work 15 hours per week .. i gave up enuff time just to make it out for the TA party on Friday, hittin another party this weekend woulda juss been too much for me since i don't even hav a summer anymore! what i meant was that hopefully the next time he plays here he'll be at a larger venue since some of you were complaining that it was a little tight inside the Guv last nite. regardless had i had the opportunity to go and see him i woulda. and now .. by insulting my intents.. you've made me .. FURIOUS !!

poor dEsidEL! now we know why.
Your thoughts would come across better if you began with the root of the problem 1st, instead of explaining your reasoning afterwards. Sorry- there I go bring litigious again.
