They need resources do they? They got a whole shitload of oil now don't they!? Looks like the US hit a double whammy on their Gulf War II. Destroting a possible US threat (however the possiblilty of that seems rather... well... jack none) and gaining a foothold on the second largest oil reserves in the world. Any resources their losing, they've more than gained with this booty. Plus, populations mean jack, other than the case for israel. Since orthodox are generally right-wing and more hard core this and that. However, don't count on them to keep coming. I'm sure there's another statistic that says most orthodox stray away and become secular... especially in a secular dominated society.
Let's see... Israel has more power than Egypt (help can be attributed to the US) while Egypt is 10 times the size of Israel in population and way more in size. Its irrelevent if Palestine has more people than Israel. Not to mention a load of other factors and other stats... ugghh fuck stats.
