Thor....I know who you're talking about...the blond amazon with the cowboy hat...transvestite...probably..couldn't really tell cause I was blitzed. I'm glad I was from the sounds of most of the reviews...

I don't see how you can say it's the best set you've ever heard at all. *shrug* |
Tiesto was wikkid here!! I didn't like the fact he played from 1130-145, but whatev. He played so many wikkid songs that have been listed, including MIKE - Turn Off the Lights, and the Breaks remix of Breathing, not just the 2003 remix. All in all a great night, except for my ex showing up to fuck with my head. Bah. Like I said, Tiesto is an honorary Edmontonian and just hates Calgary

DJ Tiesto - All I have to say is....WOW! ...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...when I saw Tiesto here at "The Bronze" in December, I thought that Cary was FAR better than the performance Tiesto put on.
Tonight however, Cary played some nice stuff, but Tiesto absolutely lit the house on FIRE. Awesome, awesome tracks, though I really wanted to hear the Cor Fjineman "Venus" track.
The Joint was completely packed, more than I would have ever thought possible, and I mean PACKED! I let myself go and danced for the first time to this stuff, it was an amazing night.
Wow!
P.S. I was pretty glad to hear Cary playing the "Nightcrawlers - Push the Feeling On (MV Mix)" track, glad someone else has good taste in music.

a.k.a. DJ Kibon

really REALLY hard set. not melodic like his usual stuff up in vancouver. a bit disheartening to hear his set other places has sucked too.. perhaps it might suck tomorrow after all

after reading everything that's been said in this thread, I am soooooo glad I only paid my ticket 15$ CAN to see him next thursday

Its probably that hes just not a fan of Calgary.
My friend asked him when he ran into him in Spain last year what tiesto thought of Vancouver. Tiesto said he loved it ! My friend also asked him what He thought of Calgary and tiesto said it was just not really his thing. He just didnt seems to dig Calgary. Too bad for cow town I guess.
Oh well Im sure we will see an awsome show tonight.
If he played at the Whiskey, he was probably dissapointed at the size of the venue...a small sardine can comes to mind when I think of the whisky when it's packed.

Bummer for guys...I hope his Van show is better tonight (although I'm not going)
I went to the PDX show...and it was pretty good and the few TA's from the area that went seemed to agree. Of course we had some heads up on the sets he was playing (i.e. harder deeper beats, and even techno breaks) which fits in fine in Portland since there really is no dance scene.
I guess all I have to say is check the other forums where he passed through and check his sets...he has played pretty much the same thing according to what I've seen...so his playlist should NOT have been a shocker.
Plus he jumped down about 5 minutes afterwards and signed a bunch of stuff then did his Adagio encore and then signed about 5-10 minutes more. I'm guessing his stuff totalled about 2 1/2 hours.
It's too bad he just bolted afterwards...of course it could be a reflection of how the crowd reaction through the evening was to him too, which is probably related to the venue/sound as well. *shrug*
Better luck next time guys...if there is one

Ya i dont know what the fuck was wrong with Tijs at the whiskey. It was a total let down i thought. No flow no direction lacked intensity definately the worst out of the 4 times ive seen the guy. The best song i thought was the last one, no idea what it is. Like previously said before dont know if i will pay to see him again here in calgary. Well i hope the 20th pulls thru, to get some trance before cosamic gate

hey, it's okay.. I'd probably say the same if someone insulted a live performance that I thought was the best ever! I guess I'm not a huge PVD fan, I'm not as familiar with his music, so that didn't help matters. To each his own!
Hey Boss Drums, we forgot one major song that Tiesto played here... COTA - WAITING!!! EPIC!!
hmm yea i guess he did start late and left too early,,, but i still liked it... the highlight for me was when he dropped NRC - Here Comes The Rain (Push Instrumental)...
of course it didn't top when Ferry and Armin were here...
