Like I said, he played for 2 hours almost exactly. I dont know if thats short or long by trance standards. I dont know about anyone else but I wasnt expecting any longer. Also you forgot Lethal Industry from that track list.

Thor....I know who you're talking about...the blond amazon with the cowboy hat...transvestite...probably..couldn't really tell cause I was blitzed. I'm glad I was from the sounds of most of the reviews...

I think it was a combination of Preach's set being so awesome and banging right before his, him getting on late and finishing early, and playing some cheeze. I don't see how you can say it's the best set you've ever heard at all.

*shrug*

My Gawd we have different tastes....I couldn't stand Preach and his proggyness....it went absolutely nowhere. Maybe I needed something cuz I went pure PVD that night.

Tiesto was wikkid here!! I didn't like the fact he played from 1130-145, but whatev. He played so many wikkid songs that have been listed, including MIKE - Turn Off the Lights, and the Breaks remix of Breathing, not just the 2003 remix. All in all a great night, except for my ex showing up to fuck with my head. Bah. Like I said, Tiesto is an honorary Edmontonian and just hates Calgary

Lol, this chick pushed in front of me when I was leaing on the rail and I was just thinking "Holy fuck, backoff Gigantor"

DJ Tiesto - All I have to say is....WOW! ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...when I saw Tiesto here at "The Bronze" in December, I thought that Cary was FAR better than the performance Tiesto put on.

Tonight however, Cary played some nice stuff, but Tiesto absolutely lit the house on FIRE. Awesome, awesome tracks, though I really wanted to hear the Cor Fjineman "Venus" track.

The Joint was completely packed, more than I would have ever thought possible, and I mean PACKED! I let myself go and danced for the first time to this stuff, it was an amazing night.

Wow!

P.S. I was pretty glad to hear Cary playing the "Nightcrawlers - Push the Feeling On (MV Mix)" track, glad someone else has good taste in music.

really REALLY hard set. not melodic like his usual stuff up in vancouver. a bit disheartening to hear his set other places has sucked too.. perhaps it might suck tomorrow after all

hm, i'm sorry if i'm gonna offend anything with this, but thats a pretty shitty tracklist. for an exception of a couple of tracks, the tracklist isnt original :\ its a pitty, seems like every friggin trance dj is playing those same tracks and those same remixes. and darude?

i've got a feeling tiesto's attitude toward the crowd wont be much different tomorrow night. help me god that i am very wrong about that.

it could very well be that the fame has gotten the best of tiesto. or, he's just behaving like he would at a standard european party where he came, he played, he left, party's over. guess we'll have to wait and see. one more sleep

ya mon.

dude i think Tiesto has a lot of pressure to leave, i think that sometimes its now his choice to leave, i talked to the couple who went to the Calgary show and we are in the same hostel and they reckon that his show was fine...

Posted by Windex_ on Jun-07-2003 13:43:

after reading everything that's been said in this thread, I am soooooo glad I only paid my ticket 15$ CAN to see him next thursday

I was expecting 3 hours personally. Usually big DJs here play from midnight 'till close. They were still serving liquor when he left ffs

Posted by B-Good on Jun-07-2003 16:29:

Its probably that hes just not a fan of Calgary.
My friend asked him when he ran into him in Spain last year what tiesto thought of Vancouver. Tiesto said he loved it ! My friend also asked him what He thought of Calgary and tiesto said it was just not really his thing. He just didnt seems to dig Calgary. Too bad for cow town I guess.

Oh well Im sure we will see an awsome show tonight.

Posted by Boss Drums on Jun-07-2003 18:05:

If he played at the Whiskey, he was probably dissapointed at the size of the venue...a small sardine can comes to mind when I think of the whisky when it's packed.

lol funni

maybe tijs is just unsatisfied with any venue after playing gelredome arena for 25000 ppl.

Posted by PhloTron on Jun-07-2003 19:00:

Bummer for guys...I hope his Van show is better tonight (although I'm not going)

I went to the PDX show...and it was pretty good and the few TA's from the area that went seemed to agree. Of course we had some heads up on the sets he was playing (i.e. harder deeper beats, and even techno breaks) which fits in fine in Portland since there really is no dance scene.

I guess all I have to say is check the other forums where he passed through and check his sets...he has played pretty much the same thing according to what I've seen...so his playlist should NOT have been a shocker.

Plus he jumped down about 5 minutes afterwards and signed a bunch of stuff then did his Adagio encore and then signed about 5-10 minutes more. I'm guessing his stuff totalled about 2 1/2 hours.

It's too bad he just bolted afterwards...of course it could be a reflection of how the crowd reaction through the evening was to him too, which is probably related to the venue/sound as well. *shrug*

Better luck next time guys...if there is one

Ya i dont know what the fuck was wrong with Tijs at the whiskey. It was a total let down i thought. No flow no direction lacked intensity definately the worst out of the 4 times ive seen the guy. The best song i thought was the last one, no idea what it is. Like previously said before dont know if i will pay to see him again here in calgary. Well i hope the 20th pulls thru, to get some trance before cosamic gate

I have seen PVD twice, tiesto once, Mauro Picotto once , avb twice and + many more trance djs. That was the best Set I have personally heard live.. thats I all ment ( I just found it odd that people thought his set was cheese and bad thats all).I didnt care for preaches set at all,Besides airwave-save me and The Roc Project-never (filterheadz mix). I just dont dig that kind of music. I like trance... but hey thats me. I shouldnt have said you dont like trance... I apologize for that.

Posted by kate on Jun-08-2003 16:44:

hey, it's okay.. I'd probably say the same if someone insulted a live performance that I thought was the best ever! I guess I'm not a huge PVD fan, I'm not as familiar with his music, so that didn't help matters. To each his own!

Posted by Thierry on Jun-08-2003 17:58:

Hey Boss Drums, we forgot one major song that Tiesto played here... COTA - WAITING!!! EPIC!!

Posted by fervour on Jun-09-2003 00:25:

hmm yea i guess he did start late and left too early,,, but i still liked it... the highlight for me was when he dropped NRC - Here Comes The Rain (Push Instrumental)...
of course it didn't top when Ferry and Armin were here...
