nice info tta, but thats just for memorizing
a lot of courses, especially in science and engineering require more thinking and understanding concepts rather than just memorizing.
understanding concepts takes more time than just memorizing facts

yes i know but most science courses are pure facts then they apply to real life. I find doing the examples of questions helps...practice till you understand them. Then again, I said nothing was easy.

Bananas. Good for working out too, cause they don't break up as fast as chocolate.

The boost drinks you were talking about are things that just give you a shot of caffeine for the day. I heard Red Bull works, but it tastes like piss.

Get a study partner. Take turns explaining things to each other. i learn more when i have to explain something to someone. a lot of times i will stop studying something b/c i think i understand it. explaining it out loud to someone makes you have to understand it.
Also, there is a good way to remember lists. there is a name for it but i do not remember it (haha). read through the following list spending about 4 seconds on each word. then try and remember all the words at the end in the right order.
1. pencil
2. tea cup
3. rhino
4. phone
5. picinc
6. light bulb
7. lake
8. picture
9. tiger
10. speaker
11. glass
12. tree
13. tornado
14. trash
15. rug
16. clock
17. steak
18. book
19. foot
20. sun
How did you do? if you got them all then you already know some good memory tricks. if not...try this. What you need to do is make up a list of places that you are familiar with. if there are 20 things then imagine 20 places in a row. example would include...
1. Apt. bedroom
2. Apt. kitchen
3. Apt. livging room
4. Apt. Hallway
5. Parking lot
5. car
ect, ect
When i did it in college, i thought of the process of getting to class in the morning. You now tie this list into the list you need to learn. go back up to the list and redo it but for each item in the list, connect it to your list of places. the more you picture it in your mind and the more unique it is, the easier it is to remember. examples include,
1. i woke up in my bed next to an ungly pencil
2. in the kitchen there was a tea cup sitting at a barstool drinking 3. in the living room a rhino watching tv.
and so on....
now to remember the list of 20 things you just have to recall the list of 20 places and the other list should come back to you with ease.

I took a Learning Teachniques class my 1st semester. It really helped and you also have to consider what u are studying for. SHould use diff methods if ur gonna study ex: anatomy reading that has alot of important words rather than a story or sumtn.
Eating healthy and certain foods is important try to stay off carbs and eat more cheese n protein.
try to learn tricks too using words to relate to idea.
LIke that other dude in other post said(dont feel like scrolling down to look at username)No need for substances u just need to learn how to take better notes and study differently. Everyone takes in material differently.

If we are talking daytime studying, constant coffee and constand pot.
If we are talking nighttime studying, constant redbull and constant pot.
