There have been stabbings in toronto clubs (even the guv..) happens everywhere. But i feel as safe at aria as I do anywhere here in ottawa.

seriously i was there and people were still asking for music when the lights turned on at 8:45 just to tell you how much for a normal night it was (except the hip hop room got closed)

Its not hard to sneak stuff in, I suppose depending on the size of the knife, I've snuck in cameras before, and those are pretty big, so a folding knife the size of a camera wouldn't be hard. JF, just as a note, I don't do this anymore but when I did sneak in cameras I would just leave it right in my hand(seems simple enough) They go to frisk you and you put your arms up and you keep your hands above the bouncer ( they've never actually checked in my hands!) I think I came in 5 or 6 times with a camera and did this, and not once did they see it. perhaps this is worth mentioning to your employees.

specially if ure going to an after hours club. u should accept the fact that weird stuff can happen, and that its less safe than any other normal club..
if ure gonna chicken out about it, then just dont go!
Dont blame it on the security, security at aria is good enough...plus nobody wants to wait for an extra hour or two outside in the freezing weather just to get 1500 peeps scanned thoroughly.

anyways regarding the incident...nobody ever mentioned the stabber! did they catch him or what?

ya that laboom thingy....well i think it was last year....we were in the stairs....the this spanish guy comes from the back and pops a few bullets in some other spanish guys head and wtv his brains all over the walls, they never caught the guy...pretty fucked up...then a month ago at coconut groove they shot sum guy....never caught the guy.......a few of my friends were there.....if u wanna kill someone do it solo away from the freaking public.....cuz its disturbing....and just simply stupid

It would be next to impossible to "just close the hiphop room". The urban room is a huge source of income for the club, and it is also one of the reasons why the tickets for the main room are so cheap in comparision to Stereo. You can't prevent things like this from happening, the only thing you can do is learn from them in hopes to improve effectiveness if it ever happens again.

Btw, being locked in a club for a few hours is very annoying when you want to leave, but if thats what needed to be done, I'm glad I cooperated. Not like I had much of a choice anyways..... haha.

it was really chill in the main room except for the fact that we couldnt leave anymore until past 11am. the hiphop room and the main room are a totally different crowd and a totally different vibe.

Yup, you can't just up and close the hip hop room.

However, those huge metal detectors like Circus has wouldn't be so bad, dunno if it helps them over there or not though.
