A copy would be unreal. Being able to listen to his set

Thats a bit unfair. A friend who doesnt share music isnt really a friend!

Alrighty peeps finally got some good news for you!!!

James Zabiela Live @ Lot 33, Canberra, Australia (6/6/03) will in the next day or two be available for your downloading pleasure at :
a) DJmixes2K
b) Mercury Server (the john digweed community)

The webmasters of both sites now have the file - so direct all your anger, threats, projectiles in their direction if theres any further delays!!!

After listening to it today, all i can say is PHWWWWOOORRRRRRR!!!!!!!! This is one set that definitely goes down as PURE AURAL BLISS!!!! If your not a prog fan, this set will provide the conversion!!

And just as a little side note, i have on very good authority that all of the scratching, whirring, and strange other little noises that you would think must be coming from another vinyl are in fact just the technical skills of James mixing, this set was one that had all of my djing friends standing around the booth stunned at his skills!!!! A top set which i highly reccommend you all download as soon as it becomes available!!!

Enjoy peeps!!!

Okay folks - the wait is over!

Yes, it was recorded from the DJM600's outputs and is the entire three hour monster - nothing is missing. I have used LAME encoding set at VBR, min 192 max 320 - so the quality is as good as you're going to get.

Perfect rip! Grant knows his shite (grant = ripper)

Zabiela's live 3 deck mashup of enjoy the wavy gravy at the end is amazing!!! Why oh why didnt i go down to Canberra for this????

Oh well at least ive got the set!!!

Posted by skware on Jun-30-2003 10:19:

I was there, and wish I had a video camera. Oh well, getting the set from grant on saturday was a good enough. I even bought an mp3 player for the bus home so I could listen to it (but an unplanned passing out from the rather large weekend meant I haven't listened to it again in it's entirety yet). The scratching you hear on it was awesome to watch, he often ripped the record back or forward from the edge of the platter rather than with his hand on the record. He then ran this through the mixer's effects unit and put an echo or reverb on it, then sped it up / slowed it down for the really cool effect you hear over many of the track in the mix.
