word.

I might come and see jules play, have to figure out which arena he's in but it's hard to read the nrg6 car bomb flyers when they're all blurry.

Some promoters had the ingenious idea to put flyers on cars when it was pouring down with rain at the same time... yeah, that's gonna work

Posted by loulabell on Jul-16-2003 11:48:

oh stop ur biatching would u

our plurific little love kitten Julian Reynolds is going to represent the 5AM massive in true NRG 6 styles and we will all be there with bells on not only cos of that but cos NRG 6 PARTIES ROCk

there will be plenty of NRG's to come when more young dj bunnies get a go

Unfortunatly I didnt make the NRG lineup this time. But its still gonna be a great party with Julien playing & offcourse the MTM guys are going to be fantastic. So ill be there to support my friends, and its good see Julien's ontop of the list & hes gonna rock it.
Who knows maybe we will all make the NRG 7 lineup

on behalf of Garth aka Smile Police

Dear -=M=- and other concerned about Steve no playing at NRG6

My decision to not to play steve had many reason none of them were personal.

If it was personal steve would have been on the line up for sure. I concider him a good friend and one nice guys.

There are many reason why I hire dj and why I dont.

It was a very hard decsion not to play him.

I have been looking after steve for a little while now and he has really come of age with the help of everyone and I felt it was time for me to let him go on his own.

It like a mother watching her child go to primary school for the first time. She really doesnt want him to go but at the same time she knows it best for him. Why because her heart is telling her, its the best thing. Its the same for me when I let Djs go.

I feel steve is now at the stage where he can look after him self an now itx time for me to start looking after other trance Dj which is Paul West and Julian Reynolds. It is Paul West time to be in the spot light and Julian. Both of these guys have been with me longer that Steve has and have just started to flourish.

If for some reason Steve started to fall back ward I will be there to pick him up.

Im not a manager Im am just here to help the guys get some exposure and get there careers on the way

I think the question that really should be answered is. What has Smile Police done for Steve Strangis instead on why is he not playing at NRG6.

Thanks for your concern it makes me proud to see steve have such a following.

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Jul-16-2003 16:06:

but...julian won the bass station comp....and played at Contact..... so he's had more exposure and regular gigs than both steve and reemo.

sorry don't want to start an argument.

anyways, maybe be at nrg6, hope it's an awesome night regardless!

Posted by -=M=- on Jul-16-2003 16:22:

ahhh well ok.... still i reckon it wont be as good without him!

still... the way you put it makes it sound good

all is forgiven... now i just need $$$$ to go and be jule's #1 groupie :P

Posted by julianreynolds on Jul-17-2003 01:13:

should be getting industry tickets tonight, cheaper than retail obviously (how much I dont know). Will be an awesome nite people. In my opinon NRG is the next big thing in warehouse parties, come along and have a look because I know that you will be spellbound by the effort that Corrie, garth and the crew put into decor (even the toilets look awesome). I see NRG (Next Rave Generation) as being the next Every Picture Tells a Story which was an absolute institution in Melbourne.

Some people that pretend to have credibilty have no credibility & dont even have the guts to say things face to face, even when people go out of their way to be courteous.. end of story.

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jul-21-2003 07:17:

Can't fuckin wait for this one! This'd have to be the biggest party that's on while I'm in town, I have a feeling it'll be a phun night. I'm hoping teh whole pissa crew makes it to this one... Nath (DJ Ballistic) is in town from Syd too; if he doesn't make an appearance, may thousands of knives eternally stab him in the face.

Whaddaya say we have a TA meetup at midnight or so ****s?

If this is the case then why have you posted this on the message board and not spoken to the person face to face.

i'm not going so i want to see the politics

Posted by SteveStrangis on Jul-23-2003 12:54:

nope nope!

us TA's are better than that.
i dont want this bored to turn into another ITM or anything. we are decent ppl & decent djs - and us dj's are only dj's, not politicians.

Posted by resisted on Jul-24-2003 00:23:

still undecided if im going or not.

need to find other transport if i do go because there is no way im leaving my car alone for several hours on that side of the city.

dude, it aint that bad. the added plus is that half the people there wont even be inside, they'll be patrolling the carparks and camping in their cars, doing god knows what

Posted by Paulie on Jul-24-2003 01:50:

What dissapoints me about all these politics is the one guy that doesnt give a shit about it is most affected. Sure steve would have loved to play from nrg6 but do we have to have a rave about it and suggest that it was personal etc etc. when the actual man Steve dont seem to be complaining at all. Next time if u dont like the lineup just let it be instead of stirring up trouble.

*cough -=M=- cough*

Posted by SteveStrangis on Jul-24-2003 03:43:

Paul bro - dont worry about -=M=- hes being a commited supporter of us.

Still NRG 6 will be a great party, With Julian Reynolds & the Melbourne Techno Massive boys with there performace. Im gonna go to support these guys for many reasons, they have also been great in supporting the local trance movement and in there own unique sound.

e.g - Jason Midro (ok bad example) hes in huge demand, where hes big enough to get requested by everyone to play at there events. You see thats what i wanted. Iv been pushing myself + uplifting trance so i can make it on heaps of lineups. but unfortunatly due to politics its not gonna happen that way just yet, i never wanted to get caught up in this after all im a dj, not a politician.

yeh get what ure saying Steve but imo its matters that dont need to grieved upon publicly but better dealt with privately imo

Anyway rock on might see u down there Julian, still 50/50 but sounds like a hell of a party. Bring out the smiles

haha.... nice call. I got a 1979 Volvo 244DL its "the box" model so suppose I dont have to worry bout that shit, it doesnt even have a radio (their been a few intense car rides in the old beast I can tell you that), especially when you driving and everyone else is totally scattered (wonder why???). anyway, let the "ovlov" live on!!
