So if a white guy is rapping, it's black music. What on earth are you on about?

Color shouldn't be an issue at all.

Either way, i say no way to remixing a hip hop song.

The black to the white, the red to the brown, the purple and yellow but first i gotta........... No No No.... I'm with Arctic on this 1

How about some classical song?

Posted by Nightflowers on Jun-21-2003 11:51:

or maybe a song by Vangelis or Jean Michel Jarre

Posted by TheMixMaster on Jun-21-2003 11:56:

What he tried to say is that the inventors of styles like Hip Hop, R'n'B etc. are the black people of the southern states of the U.S. So these styles are common called "black music". That's all.
Let's stop the discussion at this point.

OK enough Black White, the Vangelis idea is a good 1

Good idea. One with a standout melody like the one used for orbit's afs.

I like the de-cheeseing of Plummet idea!

A positive of that is that the acapella is easily gettable, as me and costa have it. My one is 192 and good quality as well.

I don't have a midi, but i'm sure one could be arranged.

But of course, it's up to Fatboy, and for good reason....so it's probably premature to discuss it until we hear what he has to say.

Has anybody told fatboy that he is picking this 1

Posted by rb2k1 on Jun-23-2003 01:11:

wooo

I say we do aurora - dreaming. i have only heard the goldtrix remix but i think there is a lot that can be done with this song.

=) I think the vocal is clean and pretty sweet and the song is kinda chillish.. so we could really do a lot with it if we wanted to.

Just my thoughts =)

He already knows but I sent him a PM about this thread in case he missed it.

Hey people

Sorry I didn't reply before now, but I've got way too little to browse this forum as I would want to. I'm ready for another competition if people think it's time again. I have absolutely no idea about what track to pick though. The only thing I know is that I definitely want a vocal track If people are up to it I can decide in a few days. I just need suggestions (preferably tracks that are available in acapella format).

Peace

ok, fatboy wants a vocal track, so the 2 possibilities are:
Plummet - Damaged
or
Aurora - Dreaming -> I vote for this!

Posted by Robert on Jun-23-2003 22:32:

vocal track eh?
5th dimension

nah..

i probably wont have time to join anyway, maybe i can judge or something.. dunno.. will keep track of whats going on anyway.
