*waves to all the Vancouver TAs*

Hey ELENA (apri_peel) I saw your sign! and I wanted to come over and say Hi to all you TA people there representing but it was too crowded over there. I was all the in front but towards the right side. This was my first time going to a event in canada! It was awesome! I had a lot of fun! I totally didn't know what to expect but seeing everyone having a great time there was awesome. I'll probably make more 2 hour drives up north to go to party more often since I'm legal here! wohoo! being almost 21 sucks. ahhh! btw, I was the silly asian girl in the yellow writting requests (including PUNK!)on toilet paper I found on the stage and later on I climbed and stage and started taking pictures. Remember me? i also requested for ocean lab - clear blue water but ferry shook his head saying he didn't have it. too bad...i love that track!! so beautiful...anyways, i'm looking forward to meeting you TA people next time I'm up in BC!

shout outs to people I met up here, PAULINA!, AZIM and JASON from DJvibe.com, DAVE (agroculture), figilo(sp?), and chris whose throwing something next wednesday that you guys should definetly check out, zoey and that's about all I can remember right now due to lack of sleep.

Monkey Dancer 2

haha. A buddy from seattle came down to see the show. I'm glad he couldn't convince me to go.

typical front row plaza party crowd was how he described it.

what loss? that set was horrible... can you honestly say that you were impressed with that set? i could understand a set like that if he was promoting a greatest hits compilation... but it wasnt... about the fourth time ive seen Ferry in the last year and half, that had to be the worst set... i came in thinking, "it couldnt possibly be worse than the crap he plays in Tokyo," since he caters to that crowd and what Avex records tells him to play... boy was i wrong... when i arrived at the club, he was playing that new cut off of Vandit records, "Rush" by Aalto, and i thought, "hey this could be a bumpin set"... then he starts playing some older crap... swear, you could just about buy everyone one of the cuts he played that night at your local dance records store; sounded like a set that a local would play... he's basically gettin payed to look like fuckin Jesus Christ behind the decks, hella sad... its sets like that that convinces me even more how stupid those DJ polls are by DJ Mag, etc... so far i have only enjoyed one set from Ferry, but it happened to be the recording of his Tokyo World Tour compilation, which of course was all new songs then... next time i see Ferry perform, it better be live orchestrated-pa... i saw the video of the show he did in Tokyo in February when he did live-PA, and was very impressed, but pissed off at the same time that i passed up going to it thinking that it was a normal DJ set...

as for the party, first time in vancouver for me, not a bad vibe, lots of fine gurls... interesting dance styles too up in vanx... however, no accepting of creditcards sucked, and the ATM not working either sucked too... and vancouver promoters need to let their headliners go for at least 3 hours, 2 hours is too short...

funny note, when whoever-it-was put up the sign for Tenshi, a bunch of chinese gurls standing behind me were absolutely dumbfounded... they were trying to pronounce it in chinese but didnt know that it was a Japanese word...

^^^

This is Vancouver... NOT GATECRASHER SUMMER SOUND SYSTEM. I bet over 50% of the people who were in attendance have NEVER heard ANY of those songs. He played for the crowd,,, and did an excellent job. Seriously man... STOP HATING. You talk like Ferry Corsten owes you something. *shakes head*

Was his set amazing? I don't think so. It was pefect for the crowd he was playign for. I have a good 50%+ of the records he played,,, and I was suprised not to hear Goldenscan- Sunrise (Ronski Speed rmx). Anyways,,, you have a poor attitude my friend,,, and if you can't be happy for all the people who were having the time of thier lives,,, then you have some serious issues.

i came from seattle and i had a damn good time.

i dont think the crowd was ANYTHING like the plaza... because unlike people at the plaza, everyone i had to walk past/ran into me/were standing in the front with me were REALLY NICE, polite, and you could tell they were there for the music just like me.

im with sean. your loss.

yea, and about the 2 hour thing, i keep sayin it, but NOWHERE in this area has headliners that play more than 2... not seattle, not portland, not vancouver. that isnt a vancouver thing, or a reason to dislike vancouver shows... but a northwest thing. who knows why.. could be that the clubs arent open past 2, or many other reasons.

Posted by apri_peel on Jun-21-2003 18:19:

meh, i had an awesome time at ferry. so what if he played all the big and famous tracks, it got the crowd going. not to brag, but i know my trance, i know that you can buy most of the tracks ferry played pretty much anywhere (except for hmv and absound), but it doesnt matter, hearing those tracks on a big system, spun well is whats important. and i loved it when he played older tracks, just shows that trance isnt like pop or hip hop where a track is old and sucks after 3 months of airplay. like i told a guy on clubvibes with a bad view of classics, get educated, a good track is a good track no matter how old it is. its too bad ferry didnt play exhale :\

oh yeah, and it appears that vancouver has its own special dance moves lol kim, you were not the only one to notice that.

the crowd i thought was rather mixed. part of it was the twisted-parties ravers and part was the clubber type who i've seen at tiesto, picotto and pvd. that made things rather interesting, but most of the ppl seemed to have a good time, the vibe was great.

trance visionz, i remember a girl with toilet paper signs hehe it was funny watch ferry trying to read them. i didnt really pay attention to who you were, but next time, we'll all have a big northwest TAs meet up

idiot, where did i say anything about not being "happy for all the people", re-read my post again before you over-generalize, nowhere did i say that i did not have a good time... i think youre the one with "serious issues" if you cant understand what youre reading... i was being critical over his set, which absolutely blowed... you can get a fricken local for maybe $100 (if that) to play the same daymn shiet "for the crowd"

you sound like a newbie to clubs

Posted by sothis on Jun-21-2003 23:59:

^^ she isnt.. i hang out with elena every time im up seeing tiesto, pvd, etc.

Posted by dartrance on Jun-22-2003 01:05:

Looks like someone is a bit bitter

Seriosuly man, grow the fuck up... Ferry caters to the crowd, if they want to hear 1999 shit he will play it, and the fact is he plays a lot of older stuff in canada which we eat up

So while you continue to bitch and moan with an attitude like that the rest of us will go off!

Ba-ha! By all means,,, keep on making a complete ass out of yourself

And another thing...

What is it that you were expecting from FC may I ask?

ie. as in track selection/ mixing/his personality ?

Hey dude, fly back to japan and go watch your karate kid shit and stop bringing your sad upbringing to this scene... you must have been brought up in a pretty rough manner... did your parents neglect you..?? did your parents not give you food when you are hungry..??
or maybe your boyfriend didn't jerk you off the night before...

tenshi is also "angel" in chinese. i have the vinyl and the 2 asian characters resembling tenshi is written exactly the same in chinese.
