Kate Bush vs. Infusion - Running up that hill, the best build-up.

Im not a dj so my opinion doesnt really mean anything, but I think this song is too huge to start off a set with. I recently saw Tiesto and he played this track about 3 hours into his set and it was amazing!!! I went crazy.

If I were a dj I would start my set off with Viframa-Cristalle (dj katana feat Dj precision remix). I realize thats not prog but its such an amazing opener.

Posted by PhaseFour on Jun-24-2003 04:21:

there was a thread about this earlier, and ill share the same opinion:

rhythm gangstar- the crowd song (pvd rework) imo would be a crazy start! too bad it wont be released. just like any other pvd track

100% agree

The Matrix - Take The Pill (JunkieXL Remix) is also a pretty good set starter

Posted by sooper on Jun-24-2003 17:48:

an oldie:

Cass & Slide - Opera

Posted by Creamfields23 on Jun-24-2003 17:56:

Wink

My vote's go to:

1. Dr. Kucho - Nosferatu
2. Tocharian - Arcadia
3. Oxia - Nothing lasts (bit up tempo maybe but still a nice starter)

Im having the same problem, I used to do that same style as well but now I play a much harder tech-trance style and I was wondering does neone have ne advice for how to start off a hard set. Im looking for songs with like long bass free intros. For example Speedy J's remix of Ignition Key but the only I dont like about this is that there is no bass hit, so in short I wondering if neone had ne intro pointers for a hard set, and preferably the songs have long intros, thanx in advance.

Tiesto - Magik Journey

Posted by VaNFeCto on Jun-25-2003 02:44:

thanx although lethal industry seems a little to epic to start a set with.

Viframa - Cristalle (Katanas Intro Mix) !!!

Posted by Inertia on Jun-25-2003 03:25:

Lexicon Av. - Why R U Here (househeads mix)
futureshock - on my mind (watkins tranquility bass mix)
sublime - doin' time (luke fair remix)
papacha - benimussa
loudeast - lights off!
a fade into: Joeski & DJ Chus - el amor (mucho drums mix)

I agree with ya on this one, its a good bridge for a less prog tune, more uplifting nice way to turn a set me thinks

Some good starters in my opinion

Airwave - My Lady Blue
DJ Danjo & Rob Styles - Aragon (Intro Mix)
DJ Tiesto & Geert Huinink - Magik Journey
Neo & Farina - Mondial (Original Mix)
Nugen - Braaj (Lemon 8 Remix)
Orange - Orange 8
Robert Lidstroem - Recitation (Misja Helsloot Remix)
Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Armin Van Buuren Remix)
Three Drives - Greece 2000 (G & M Project 2003 Mix)
Viframa - Cristalle (Katana's Intro Mix)
Vincent De Moor - Yellow Subway <-- Track 1 from his Additional Works #3 Vinyl

Hope that helps

any more?

Fragma - You Are Alive (Praha Remix)

cant think of any atm

Posted by torontotrance on Aug-30-2003 15:27:

I always think it depends on where you playing...what time you playing and what set you wanting to play.

Nick Warren's Gu011 CD1 opener was my fave

Posted by richwms on Aug-30-2003 16:11:

Yeah i guess it does.

thing is u can never tell what kinda set u gonna play untill u get there and see how the crowd is....
