Posted by Lanithium on Sep-08-2003 06:02:

we should have a meetup at marble bar before this! i'll be playing from 10-11 so would be a nice spot to have a few drinks and listen to some good tunes before heading over to heat!

Posted by Tak on Sep-08-2003 10:23:

I'll be there for sure!

I have 2 partys beforehand so I'll have to miss the marble (grrr...) but we'll see what happens, if I can coax people to go early I might just be there.

Hey Huey,

Will tickets be available on the door? - If so how much will they be??

Ta

Posted by Huebor on Sep-10-2003 08:21:

Yes there will be, however I am not 100% sure how much we will be selling them for on the night..

Posted by CoOkIeSmmm on Sep-10-2003 22:39:

shite well if they're playing aukland on the 12th and perth on the 13th i guess that meanst they're skipping the east coast

Wouldn't have minded seeing them tho i spose there *IS* a heap on at the moment anyway

Posted by Lanithium on Sep-14-2003 03:42:

how good was gtr??? damn that was one fine set! started off nice and chilled then took it harder than i was expecting from listening to his promo mixes/radio shows... definately had everyone groovin along

pulser opened with armin remix of as the rush comes *drools * although it was pitched up at about +8 and sounded really quite bad heh.. although he played some great tunes his set didnt do much for me... didnt help with distortion and having the highs maxed out... my poor ears!

i dont understand perth, they get a quality event like this and just dont show any support at all! if it doesnt have a ministry, godskitchen etc name on the flyer then nobody seems to bother
it really was a pity that the numbers werent there, however it didnt ruin my night and i laugh at everyone who missed these two great sets.. gtr's set made the top of my list for this year!

cheers to huebor for putting on a great event!

Posted by novastorm on Sep-14-2003 10:30:

hmm i might have hoped there would have been some better support for two such legends but i guess if Omega keep bringing class acts like this their name will slowly but surely come closer to the amount of cred commonly given to anything with the GK or Ministry name attached to it, if ya know what i mean.

unfortunatly i couldnt be there at Resolution due to a friends 21st as much as i was dying to go, but all feel free to rub it in and tell me how good it was i wana hear bout it heh what tunes do u all remember hearing?

methinks it would have been either
Morpheus - Magnetica
or
Morpheus - Signs

a-side and b-side respectively of the new promo out from Steve Helstrip and Paul Mendez .. both equally great traxx

btw sounds like an awesome playlist, i still havent heard pulser's mix of Sincere, dying to tho .. and nice touch with the classic Jose Amnesia - The Eternal .. and of course Live Another Life! :P

man .. i wish i'd been there

i'll post my thoughts on here when i've had more than an hours sleep.

Posted by loulabell on Sep-15-2003 02:46:

sounds like u had a biggun like me Huebor congrats on putting on such a big night with limited support - i can empathize!

looking forward to Pulser playing for us @viper this Friday and I believe Mr. mangler and myself will be wining and dining with them both this Thurs evening ?!?

oooh definitely like the looks of that track listing

Posted by Huebor on Sep-15-2003 03:05:

thanks loulabell

He won't disappoint thats for sure ... just a shame you guys aren't getting Gaz to play too!!

Still not enough sleep to conjure up thoughts on this.

Maybe in a few weeks after Melbourne which reminds me, must change flights and pack! I'm coming over earlier

Posted by Huebor on Sep-15-2003 06:16:

ok, here goes ..

first off a couple of things to clarify ..

There were supposed to be two screens with visuals on them .. unfortunately the 2nd projector never turned up so we had to cut back .. the mounting for the 1st projector was also too close to the screen and couldn't be changed.. hence the small size of the projections .. next big event we do with the guys from Pied Piper Graphics and Lockjaw, we will make sure this is sorted out

Ok! Now the sets,

Big A - started out nicely with some decent tunes, its just a shame only a very small number of people were there to hear him ..

Choice - brought the pace down a little bit, but brought it back up towards the end of his set .. played a varied style set..

Dirty Den - What can I say... I haven't heard den play like he did on Saturday night in a long time!! .. (usually he'd be playing a 4am set or so and i'd have left the venue by then!) .. Certainly silenced a few of his critics for sure! .. Perfect warm up for Gaz (and he was appreciative of it too)

Gareth Emery - can you say "Dance floor filler?!" only a few people left around the edges of the club, everyone else was on the dance floor .. much appreciation showed for Gareth .. this guy has an awesome future ahead of him.. played up to the crowd and was not just mixing .. I feel sorry for Melbourne who doesn't get to see gareth play.. you guys are truly missing out..

Pulser - Despite a couple of hiccups (damn dirty stylii!) he kept it going through til 5 am when finally a few people just couldn't handle it anymore and had to sit down! Pulser brought it up tempo and also played up to the crowd ..

The intermission all 2 minutes of it was brought to you by a very drunk Huebor and his bad drunken, broken voice (I CAN'T HEAR YOU ! CHEEER LOUUDER FOR THE BOYS!#%) *shakes head*

Dr Willis - Nutter. That is all

Those who attended right to the end or paid attention to the flyers left around the venue would've noticed the flyer for the after party .. originally scheduled for Big A, Akira and Guests .. Gaz and Pulser jumped up and played a back to back set from 7am til 8am (well, about 8.15 until we had to tie gaz up and drag him away from the decks and the ladies!) unfortunately we had three other DJs lined up, but the after party venue wanted to close early (Akira didn't get to play, and we had lanithium and jon noonan lined up too, sorry guys )

Overall, it was a success in that all the DJs enjoyed themselves, the crowd did too (from what I could tell .. cheeeeeeer louuder!).. hope to see more of the perth trance community come out and support the gig next time we bring over an international.

Saturdays at Quarantine are still the place to be for your weekly trance dosage .. keep an eye out on the thread here and on our website www.oep.com.au.

Thats it, I think.

A very broken huey.

p.s. I'll see if i can get the guys to come on and post some thoughts .. will also try and get their track listings off them..

BASTARDS! J/K!

no doubt for the best, was very broken come 8am hehe!

:

tracklist from both would be great, so many tunes i hadnt heard before!

GTR was unfknblvbl...
abit dissapointing with the turn out though,
quality trance DJ's like that don't turn up on our
doorstep that often.
but it was killer anyways.
the highlight of the night for me was when
GTR took Gamemaster2003 to the speakers. that s#!t went off.

Perth definitely needs more events like this.

Posted by Tak on Sep-16-2003 01:51:

Have to say it was a f*ckin huge night, only could have been better through a better turnout.

I'd have to say I enjoyed Pulser alot more than GTR, pity I was so f*cked from the night before I left before he even finished.

Even got the thumbs up from some of my non-trance friends.
