Smiley DJ This is gonna make me sound REALLY old!!

.....I was always into trance/techno for as long as I can remember (though back in the day we'd just call everything with an electronica-based beat as 'techno'). I remember Astral Projection's 'Mahadeva' as being one of the first kick-ass tunes I owned....but what really got me into it all...at the very beginning.....before Astral, MoS, Oakenfold, etc.,.....was *gasp* 2 Unlimited.
Needless to say, my tastes have 'evolved' now.

..........Let the flaming begin!

Correct title is Miss Jane - It's A Fine Day '99 (ATB Club Mix)

The song that got me into trance was:

Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (Original Mix) ['98]

I got that from a friend and was totally amazed. I asked from what CD he had it, and he said it would be "Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport", so I got that CD, and everything started from then.

Me and a friend got hold of a 'Destination Goa'-record (or whatever it name was) during 1997 and I clearly remember getting hooked on Astral Projection after that.

I really thought Goa-trance was the best it could get until I came across the likes of Ayla, Paul van Dyk and ofcourse, Tisto. I fell in love with melodic trance, a love still as passioned today as it was before.

Antiloop (Swedish trance/dance-duo) really made a huge impact on me aswell, their singles 'Believe' and 'Trespasser' is still quality material today, listen to them if you haven't already!

I remember sooo many nice tracks from 98 and 99, wich made me and my friends go wild on every dancefloor we could find.

Miranda - Mars Needs Women (Antiloop Remix) - This must be my all time favorite still today, sooo energic!
System F - Out Of The Blue - No words needed.
Veracocha - Carte Blanche - Dito.
Binary - Finary - 1998 and 99 (PvD and KayCee Remixes) - I first heard PvD-s remix on one of his livesets, and the melody almost killed me instantly, I was in love.
Ayla - Ayla, Liebe, Into The Light and Brainchild - Ayla (Taucher and Tandu was it?) made the most beautiful melodies wich really influenced the main trance-sound of the late 90's... lovely.
Paul van Dyk - For an Angel and Rendesvouz - I die each time I hear these tracks, brings back sooo many memories!
ATB - 'Til I Come, Don't Stop, and so on. - Allthough pure cheese, they really rocked my world when I first time heard them... not the same feeling the 4536rd time though.
Balearic Bill - Destination Sunshine (Tisto Remix) - I believe this was the track that introduced me to Tjis... we've been good friends ever since. (me and his music, ofcourse)

Ah, there's soo many more I've forgot during the years, but one thing's for sure - I'll probably love trance 'til the day I die.

What directed my attention in the direction of trance was actually (dont flame just yet) Darude - sandstorm

Then what got me hooked was actually Oakenfold live @ havanna.

SOON after was Sasha's Airdrawndagger, and it was then that I found my passion for this music. My my, how my taste quickly evolved, as all of that was in a matter of a month I think, lol.

Date: Summer 2002.

My earliest influences have to be the likes of 2 Unlimited & Culture Beat but I dont really classify that as Trance.
Around 1996-97 I heard Greece 2000.
Holy Shit!!!!!!!!!!!
It just blew me away .........I was hooked.
The track still does it for me even today after all these years......I cant believe no one has mentioned it as yet.
Dont think any track will ever do it for me the way Greece 2000 did it for me.

Another big influence were Oakeys Live in China EM ; Live In Havana EM & Live In Buenos Aires EM.
Awesome.
My tastes have changed a bit but I'll never gow out of Greece.

It 9 featured Carlos - The silmarillia

After this: Grooveyard - Mary go wild
A thing - A quest of thousands (this tune needs a rebirth)

Binary Finary - 1998 (PvD) in December 1998

A finite moment in my life, and my second fav track of all time

I'm not a big fan of PvD, but I owe him that much

System F - Elevate

A little more than a year ago. And for most of that year I was a complete trance n00b with just a few tracks some friends sent me. I didn't really try to get more. Then in May or so, I started to get into trance a lot more, downloaded stuff, started coming here in early June, etc.

But Elevate is still one of my favorite tracks.

Hmmmm first song I heard was Delerium - Silence (Tiesto's in search of sunrise remix)

Then my brother (who hated trance at the time) got me ISOS 2 for my birthday (July 2002). I was hooked. Ironically, so was my brother.
