Fuck I'd work for a vinyl an hour haha.

In order to stop my addiction I am investing in Cd Decks

I doubt it'll ever go away lol

But don't you have to buy CDs then? They cost almost the same.

Once I began spinning I couldn't help but by more and more vinyl just like all u guys but now I'm determined to go on a vinyl strike for a month or two, I think it's been like 2 weeks since I've bought a record. But now I realize my vinyl to buy list is just getting bigger and bigger as I put off purchasing hehe

Well the goal here is to burn mp3's and play those just to spin for practice of fun, I'm not going to be playing out with these or anything, but being a poor college student doesn't really leave much room for a vinyl addiction, even though I know I'm still going to be buying tracks I really really want.

*Puts Flame Retartdent Suit on*

I know I shouldn't be spinning MP3's, but its a better alternative than not spinning anything new at all. I know I should be supporting the artist etc etc, but it's not like you guys have every single vinyl of mp3 u listen to for your own enjoyment on your cpu.

cant help but wonder whether what sad depressing tales have derived from such an addiction tho.

Dude I know the feeling... I've dealt with this same addiction on several occasions. The good news at least for me anyways is eventually it will taper off. I'm glad it did for me. This may have to do with the fact that my gigs playing out kind of dwindled. This is kind of a no brainer but for me, the more gigs I get out, the more and more I'm going to spend on vinyl. You know the feeling. You have to have that edge on the other DJs out there and spin the latest and greatest. Unfortunately, it kills your wallet.

Smile

Okay first of all

1) I have rejoined because I want to participate in musical discussion and try and help people on ID's, NOT to cause problems on here, just wanted to make that clear, those that know me know I am a changed man....

2) yes I am too much of a vinyl addict mate, I dont even wanna think about how much I've spent on vinyl since I started :-\ rather worrying when you think about it, got over 1800 trance vinyls now, thats a lot of cash worth when you think about it...

Cheers,

Haha. Yeah it is...

1800 * $9.99 USD= ~$18,000 USD

I have a friend who has spent $16,000, and the car I drive cost $13,000USD so yeah....

*Goes to buy some cd dex and a cd burner*

Talking

lol even more than 9.99 us dollars mate!

vinyls in the UK are in the 6.50 - 7.00 mark, and many vinyls I have bought have been as expensive as 15 - 20 (through ebay auctions etc)

it is rather worrying :\

im addicted!

i never used to be that bad when i started collecting
3.5 yrs ago.
But over the last year, ive been buying between 2-5 records
a week. which really is far 2 much!!
Seeing as i only earn 80 Quid a week.

Recently though ive been trying 2 hunt my favs tracks
from 1999, which are becoming hard 2 find, when i do
find them they usually have a hefty pricetag!!
dam! i wish i bought vinyl in 99 instead of cds
cos i own about 300+ cd's, inc all the gatecrashers etc etc
