coldharbour is a beauty

it's beautiful all over,
and markus managed to fit in a sick bassline around the middle of the song.

it's beautiful and sick.

Technically it's OceanLab so that'd be Oceanlab if you're not bothered about the capitalization. In any event it should be one word, not two. And I haven't heard this new one yet... looking forward to it.

I'm a bit biased against above and beyond so perhaps my opinion that this tune blows comes as no surprise. It's your typical "I changed the effects bank" "hands in the air" "anthem" trancer in my opinion, like all of above and beyond's subpar work. Plus the vocals are inane and sound like crap (not to mention cheesy).

id give this a one... maybe a two...

Even the staff over at Anjunabeats has been inconsistent in the past on this issue, so don't feel bad about the confusion.

In fact at one point the anjunabeats discography on their own site listed:
Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water
Oceanlab - Sky Falls Down

Right next to each other!

I set them an email about it and received the cryptic response "it depends who you ask". The first promos that were sent out for CBW also called the group "Ocean Lab". All the releases I own refer to them as "OceanLab", so my opinion is that it is the technically correct name.

Best Wishes,

Arbiter

couldn't ID Aalto - Liquid Sweep (Super 8 Remix) in a Markus
Schulz set a few months ago and thought it had a Oceanlab-
sound to it. And he heard rumors that Oceanlab was working
on a new track called Satellite.

It's complicated...but it is correct.
And NO they don't sound the same.

hhhmmm a track called 'Liquid Sweep' has vocals that go: "Ill blame it on the sleeping satellite", as apposed to a track called...'Sleeping Satellite' does it? funny that.....
no, Liquid Sweep doesnt sound the same as this new (fake) Oceanlab rip, however, Aurora - Sleeping Satellite (Super 8 Remix) does sound similar, identical in fact, that's because....they're the same track.

edit: actaully that line is: "Ill blame you for the sleeping satellite", not that it matters, it certainly doesnt say "liquid sweep im a spastik".

Talking OMFG!

I love Above and beyond+Justine Suissa
they fucking own!!!!!

Posted by raveed on Nov-18-2003 20:56:

agreed ... this tune is defiantely one of the finest of the year IMO

Posted by Cobalt on Nov-18-2003 22:29:

Beautiful Together was done skillfully enough not to cross the line, but this has gone way over it.

Posted by Clyde77 on Nov-18-2003 22:54:

^^ amen to that

Posted by Vanilla on Nov-19-2003 00:51:

I have one, thanks. Trance is a big part of it.

And I wasn't trying to be "cool." I was voicing my opinion. Isn't that what a review thread is for?

It's a standard uplifter with full-on cheese eurotrance vocals. I don't have anything against Oceanlab; Clear Blue Water is classic. But this is pretty bad, especially considering the talent behind it.

Posted by TuanAnh213 on Nov-19-2003 02:57:

i agree that the vocals suck ass...but without it it'd be an awesome track...hopefully there's a dub or somethin

Posted by ClubHarder on Nov-19-2003 20:14:

Jus heard this a few mins ago, the ASOT rip..........fk me!
Such a good tune, love the vocals, quality track, only heard orignal, but giv it 9.9 / 10!
seriusly need this on vinyl ASAP

Posted by Numb3rJuan on Nov-19-2003 20:20:

I myself like this tune especially the Coldharbour mix.

But just bc Cobalt dislikes the song doesnt mean we have to bash him. He wont like it regardless anyway.

Posted by Cobalt on Nov-20-2003 03:50:

By the way, I was only talking about the original. I still haven't heard the Markus Schulz remix.

Edit: Markus' Mix is nice, but the vocals are still too cheesy. Me wants a dub.
