You made me choose between PvD and AvB...Now I need therapy!

P.S. It's PvD

Posted by dj tek on Aug-14-2003 13:56:

its good to see all the above djs got at least one vote..

Posted by Srezic on Aug-15-2003 00:46:

Have to go with Ferry. PvD is great, and 2nd on my list, but Ferry is #1

Posted by dj tek on Aug-16-2003 19:53:

its funny cuz now is the 'armin bandwagon' time.. lol a year ago, tiesto would have had waaay more votes than he does now..

Posted by NYGblue on Aug-16-2003 23:00:

PvD would still be #1.. lol

sorry, this is BS. armin spins SOME progressive.

pvd spins:

- house
mostly progressive but also other variations including disco-ish stuff

- techno-
all kinds of it

- breaks

- and yes he plays trance, but he plays all kinds of shit that people would call trance, and he would call electronic dance music. much of this is progressive too.

....and other shit that you just can't even categorize.

yeah i agree with your 'breakdown' of genres pvd play but most of the time, he plays at least 60% of what we call 'trance' in his sets after all the prog, electro, techno, breaks, and hard house that might be included in his sets...

Whenever Tiesto comes to Glow he always packs the house and puts on a great show. I would've never even got into Trance if I didn't go to his Nov. 2001 gig in DC. His visit in May 2003 was just as sick.

I can't wait for that Tiesto video to be put on Glow's site. You'll be amazed.

not too hard to pack the house at glow is it? its kind of a little hole of a venue.

i like tiesto, he's alright. his djing isnt impressive but he has good enough taste in music and as a producer i respect him.

It could definitely use more space. Although, it's not that easy to pack the place. Last couple of times I went to see Johan and Marco V there was plenty of room to walk around, especially at the end of the sets. One thing to note about nights with Armin, Ferry, Tiesto and PvD is you are more likely to see people stay to the very end. If Tiesto truly sucks like everyone says he does, no one would be around for the encore. No reason to stay up late if a show completely sucks.

nice editing there.. but the ppl above still trance now, and played trance when they got famous.. yeah sasha & diggers play trance in there sets, no doubt about that but its not their 'theme'.. i would consider them progressive djs since half of what they play is progressive house.. Sasha def. represents progressive trance out of the 2 but i dont think its a right poll for S&D...well, your the mod.

sasha might be progressive but he still plays trance and I think if you have Marco V in there who plays tech-trance you can have sasha and diggers who both basically were the building blocks of "trance" and its genres. The Northern Exposure series could possibly the most well concieved, well produced, well mixed cd series ever.

Don't make me have to add Oaky in there too
