yeah what jon said.
dont bother filling out the massive form unless you're pretty sure you'll get the full loan and tuition fees paid for you.
you can get all sorted and start uni on time- i filled out someones clearing forms/loan forms etc this week last year and he got everything in time

I feel bad reading this thread now .. if only I could go back in time and wake myself up from my blind reality i was living .. that I could coast through my alevels like i essentially did with my gcses and get away with some half-arsed attempt at heavy studying b4 the summer exams .. I didnt want to waste my teenage years burying my head in books

Now I can see my failed potential .. what I could have achieved with that little bit more effort from the start .. having the right attitude to learning and sorting out the queries with regards to new material then and there .. perhaps I wouldnt have ended up with BBC but with AAB instead .. id have saved myself a years extra studying to retake my maths anyhow ..

I dont wish to lower or insult any1 in any way who might have got lower alevel grades then I have .. im only commenting on my own experience .. I sometimes wonder how much worse my life would have been if i had sacrificed more time to my studies while i was at school ..

Ah well .. guess thats just the way I am .. I could say something like Ill try and redeam myself now ive gotten into uni (lboro) .. but now doubt id just be living a lie unless something seriously changes the person i am ..

Hm ive written too much ..

I know what you mean, I skitted though my GCSE's thinking that going to raves and getting mullered every night was far more important, and i paid the price, i failed them all, then i got onto a Youth Training Scheme and just worked my arse off, its now paid off, took a few more years to get to where i am than if i had passed all my GCSES, done all the A-Levels i wanted and gone to uni but the important thing is ive had a fun and enjoyable life so far.

If you can say that to yourself then theres nothing to worry about

well first i picked the subject i liked the most (art) to do at uni, but then realised that i would probably never be rich if i did art.
so then i picked my second favourite (english) and did that instead.

now within 2-3 months i have to decide if im going to continue at uni to do a masters or something here, leave and get a job here, or do either of those options in sheffield.

and i dont have a clue what to do.

you should definately go to uni.

U should think long and hard about it. Uni is stunning yes, I had some of the best nites of my life up in the hud. But reality smacks u square in the nads when u have graduated. I have 9k to pay back, not including my overdraft. Once I graduated and had no more loans I was proper stitched for money. Anyway looking on the bright side of life............. who's watching the footy tonite?
