Hope everyone's OK...I heard horror stories from my friends that live in the City...

On the bright side, there's gonna be a lot of babies in nine months!

Half of us in Toronto are still without power.

People were stuck in elevators for a long time at some instances.

to tell you the truth I was pretty worried.

Not for myself but for michelle. About 5 minutes after talking to her the power went out. Then the water, and then my cell phone and some car alarms around my house. that = wierd as fuck... I headed out to yell at my cell phone company and by them time I hit the parkway not one car on any street was moving = fucking wierd

Im not bitching here but when you cant talk to a loved one and you have no clue wtf is going on people tend to freak..

Also they could of hit us hard last night. Most of our the countrys attention was directed towards the north east.

Let's hope we can be better prepared next time.

That's exactly the problem and you don't know yet what happened to cause it. It was a pretty hard evening. I was really stressed out. And getting home was a bitch because of all the traffic and no public transportation.

WOOOOOORD! back in mother ukrainiaaa they used to turn the power off for entire city blocks because of shortage... hours at a time about once a week... and it wasn't that big of a deal, you know. i guess USA is too dependent on electricity and people just FREAK out without it... the light bulb was invented just ~120 years ago...

I think what that idiot Cali person forgot was that Vermont, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, some other parts of the US (I heard as far down as North Carolina got a hit of this one), along with Toronto, Montreal, and Ontario (Im sure other parts of Canada were affected, those 3 being the most affected). Some people will be left without power until the end of the weekend.

So lets compare 8+ states and 3+ provinces in Canada, to a few counties;several hour large blackouts in California.

In the Dominican Republic light can go off for days at a time (though usually its about 8 or 9 hours)... It is very erratic, and everyone that can afford it has truck-batteries and generators... You really can't compare what happens in another country to what happens in NYC because in NYC (and other cities) electricity doesn't shut off, so you can afford to be dependent and have elavators, trains, water, etc running off of electricity. A blackout in NYC IS a big-deal where-as elsewhere it may not. So for those of you who say its not a big-deal, stfu, because your an idiot who compares apples to oranges...

thank you.
