Be Cool! Picnic

Meet at the picnic hmmm?? That sounds like a nice idea, but I may not be able to since I won't have a car up there and I am depending on someone else for a ride to the party. For those of you who live in MD, may I have your phone number so we can keep in touch one I get up there???
THis is a little off the topic, but my prodution crew might have the opportunity to host an after party for Keoki for the film release of "Party Monsters". This is big news for us since we are a very new production crew and have had some trouble getting on our feet. IF we can pull this off successfully it will open alot of doors for us. This also will take place in South Beach, which has some of the Best clubs down here. Just wanted to share that!
Again, if you live in MD lets exchange numbers so we can meet up.

STARSCAPE : THE PARTY'S ON!

Get ready everybody,

The party of the year is finally here!

Despite the saber rattling of Hurricane Isabelle: The flooding, the destruction, the power outages, etc...

It's Starscape time!

There was one unfortunate casualty to our beloved Ft Armistead Park, which is that the pier is no more. It was destroyed by the storm. The bright side is that at least it wasn't structurally damaged unbeknown to us, only to collapse during the party, which obviously would have been the biggest disaster. So, let's have a moment of silence for the loss of a nice feature of the event, and move on.

To accommodate the situation, the Sonic Soul, DC Skillz, and Hip hop areas will all now be along the beach. The GSpot Art Gallery area is now going to be in the upper lots near the main tents. All other facets of the events remain unchanged.

If you've been to Starscape before, you know what a spectacular event this is going to be. The simple gathering of 5000+ people, all night at this wonderful venue is a site in and of itself. Add 5 areas of music, an art gallery area, numerous performance troops, and you have what has 3 times been voted the Best One Off in the country!

Here are some things to consider for this year's event:

- Temperature : It's going to be about 60 degrees, dress accordingly.

- Beer : We are going to offer beer for sale to those over 21. It's NOT in a beer garden, you can walk with it anywhere in the event! There will be Yuengling, Bud, and Stella. Prices will be $4 for domestic, $5 for import, 16 oz cups. There MAY be Red Bull & Vodka for sale, we're working on that.

- Parking : As we have done in the past, the immediate field in front of the gate will for people who will stay the duration of the event, as we will pack cars in. Do not pull down to this part of the lot if you do not want your car blocked. Follow all instructions from parking staff.
Arriving early gets you the best parking and the quickest entry into the event.

- Tickets : At this point there are still tickets left, but they sell extremely fast towards the end of the week. It is best to get your ticket in advance. If your local outlet sells out, that DOES NOT mean the event has sold out. We will make another announcement via email on Friday regarding advance tickets and tickets at the gate. We do reserve the right to raise the admission slightly for gate tickets, to deal with increased staffing for that procedure.

- Lineup Times : We will post the lineup times at www.starscapebaltimore.com by Friday.

- FAQ's : Or rather, the answers to them.

You may bring cameras, both still and video.

You may NOT bring your own alcohol. Because the event has a liquor license, that prohibits people from bringing their own.

There was a mixup with the agent over the Icey booking, Green Velvet replaced him.

There will be quite a few different food vendors, selling vegetarian, carnivorous and snack items.

We cannot allow tents to be setup at the event. Tents you may have seen setup in previous years were from staff members who had been setting up for days.

You cannot bring animals to the event, insurance does not allow it.

Those are the basics. We hope to see you at Starscape this Saturday!

That really sucks though because that pier was awesome!

I will still bring things for the BBQ. And if someone in Baltimore can tell me what places we can meet at if it rains.. that would be awesome..cuz its Thursday and weather.com SUCKS!! always has and I think always will cuz they have never in my opinion been right.. As of now.. only 20% chance of rain and it is supposed to be partly cloudy... so BBQ looks like it will survive!!

.. here is my number if you need to reach me or want to carpool.. we're coming from Northern VA 703.298.1232 -JoSY

PLEASE let me know if your coming or not.. cuz i've only got so much $$ for food!!

Saturday Sept 27 has finally arrived. Tonight is the night of
Starscape, and it's looking incredibly good.

We've been working for 3 days setting up the event, doing what may
perhaps be the best setup yet.

The question a lot of people seem to be asking is, "what are you
doing about the chance of rain"?

So here's what we've done:

In addition to the 15,000 sq ft Ultraworld tent, there is now the
10,000 sq ft Buzz tent, and the Art tent. This is over 28,000 sq ft of tent space. Baltimore City Fire code allows 3 sq ft per person in a standing situation. Let's bump that up to 5 sq ft per person. By that calculation we have tenting and shelter for over 5,000 people!!! Considering that is the expected attendance, pretty much everyone could find their way under cover if we were to get a shower.

This is not mention the fact that the area is wooded, and there
will be vendors with tents as well.

So really, the question is more, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THE
CHANCE OF RAIN?

Are you not going to come to the once in a year event, based on a
"chance" of rain? Or are you going to do the following:

1) Not worry about it, it's just a "chance" of rain, and it's only
water anyway.

2) Stop at Walmart, a sporting good store or somewhere else and
buy yourself a $2.50 poncho.

3) Bring a cheap umbrella, and if you don't need it just throw it
in a trash can.

4) Come to Starscape in a bathing suit.

Either way, the point is, so what, there might be some rain. :-)
That's not going to stop the fun, and as we've explained, we have plenty of shelter for everyone. If you buy a poncho, have fun with it. Get some paint, decorate it. If you're a drum n bass head, buy a camo poncho. Figure something out.

As for tickets, we are absolutely 100% guaranteed to be selling tickets at the gate, for $40 with no service charge. Go to www.starscapebaltimore.com for directions and all other information.

See you tonight
UW
