These internet IQ tests are such a scam. A true IQ test should have an average score of 100, and although this group is probably smarter than average I still have my doubts about its accuracy.

But these tests are in no way correct, real tests are age-related. I'm probably the youngest here (17) who took the test

question 14: gives you 15 points
question 19: gives you 10 points
question 27: gives you 10 points

the rest of the questions give you 2 or 3 points...
now looking at questions, 14, 19, and 27 are all about the same level of difficulty

second of all, time does not have an effect on how well you score... i tried completing the test in 10 seconds versus 10 minutes, i got the same score

by the way, (perfect score is 173)

I know for a fact my actual IQ is somewhere in the 130-140 range. 162 is ridiculously high...

Since all IQ tests are different, there is really no complete accurate way to give an IQ test. So people's IQ's seemingly fluctuate, depending on their mood, how much sleep they have got, what they have eaten, and of course the trivialness of the test.

Oh yeah, I think another reason why there seems to be a high average for iq's is that people who averaged lower, generally won't post it ....

IQ tests work by averaging the the total population's amount of correct answers on the test at a given time period. This average intelligence is rated as 100.

Something is not right when 100% of us are well above average.

Tests are also age related, as said earlier.

not everyone who scores so low is apt to show it off

Well I think the BAR exam is a lot harder but just for laughs I went through it w/o reading the questions and just guessing true or false and it told me my IQ was 115. So I guess a down syndrome person could do the same and get the same score. "Above average intelligence."

Don't IQ tests usually have more than 2 options? And aren't there 200+ questions? Do learning disabilities come into play? This is a poor test in my opinion.

people who like trance are usually more open minded (especially americans) I also think that there is a correlation between itelligence and open mindedness, I'm not trying to defend the test, I'm sure it is inflated; but I've always thought people who loved trance are generally a tad smarter.

i did this test,,, but it is so not focused or whatever,,, got a 167,,,

i like careing for my ego these ways,,,, so ive hunted down some iq tests,,, the only one that was really hard,,, and really seemed right in my eyes (especially because some of my friends took the same test a couple of house after me)....

anyways,,,, im talking about the test for "exceptionally intelligent" over at www.highiqsociety.com

I'm sorry I just went through this entire test making sure every answer was correct and the highest score I could get was 135.. though that does seem about right, considering how easy all the questions are and how stupid the test is overall..

Using six toothpicks you can create four equilateral triangles (where each triangle's side is the length of a toothpick).
I know it doesn't mention that the toothpicks have to be the same length, but aren't toothpicks all the same length? making the question wrong

If a tree branch can hold three people and John weighs twice as much as Adam, and Rachel weighs half as much as Adam, then Rachel, John and Adam can all sit together on the tree branch safely.
Wot a completely stupid question.. though i suppose u could say just the fact that THE TREE BRANCH CAN HOLD THREE PEOPLE is all you need to pay attention to.

I don't know how any of you got 160.. unless the test has been lowered to fit at a more appropriate level.

Yeh, on a proper scale, an IQ of 148 is something like 1 in 1000, i know the scale used often in north america is adds about 5 IQ points to that of a european one (americans like to make themselves feel better?). 168 IQ should be about one in 50,000 or something, so the fact hat anyone is getting that, let alone loads prooves this test is crap

This test shows my IQ at about 10 points lower than my actual IQ - I won't mention numbers here, but yes, we all know that the test is bollocks. It's highly Americanized, for one thing; the fact that it actually presents Christian dates in one question actually irritates me a little.

But yeah, it's total BS. Actually, the test is nothing more than a clich� collection of miscellaneous riddles, brain teasers, and trick questions - these aren't the types of questions you'd ever see on a real IQ test. So for the people who scored low, don't feel too bad.

I think that you have that all wrong bro. If there was a "Americans...open minded or ignorant" test, you would not do well.
Generally speaking, of course.

I took the test and did it in about 6 minutes. So, pretty quickly, but just enough time to think about it.
...123 here. This means that I am above average or something which is good enough for me.

I also think that there are way too many liars in here...or, you took an hour to do the test. It's not like geniuses, or close to, grow on trees, but whatever makes you feel better I guess.

Yeh, I had a proper test done at one of the most famous hospitals in London (purely because it was paid for by private health insurance i had at the time).

This is the only way to have a test and insure its accurate, it took about an hour, had completely different questions than this, there are even better tests online than this
