i got my frist computer, an amiga 500, over 10 years ago now, and immediatly started to mess around with early 4 channel tracker programs, like octamed, before i knew what techno was really. i think my first definite styles were breakbeat and hardcore, and then later on everything in between. much later, after i got a PC and fast tracker (32 channels .. ohhh yeah) started doing mainly trance and techno. then around 1998 started experimenting with DNB and new software, like reaktor and cubase, although i still use fast tracker for composition, despite people who think im crazy. anyway .. thats the story, like you cared
I've been producing for about a year now, I guess.
2 Years of pain and 6 hrs a days
Sacrificed my high math exams and messed with reason only to get a dam “F? the next day. I remember I was drawing a picture of a compressor on the answer sheet! Anyway I out of school now a still producing it using cubase sx, flstudio and reason the B-O-M-B.
I finally getting it right to make trance basslines and master my mixdown.
P.S
All you need is time !

did you realize that the post before yours has the date on it: Aug-23-2003. oh well, its been roughly two years for me.

I made my first "real" track something like 2 years ago (date file created: June 14 2003).
4 months w00t
One and a half years now! My tracks sounded horrible before I bought a set of studio headsets. Now my tracks sound way more pro. But I need at least one year still I think, to reach the point I'm after. As far as composition is concerned, I'll improve as long as I'm having fun with it I guess!
hmm starting 3 years ago
Seriously hmmm half Year ago ?
5 years now..has it been that long?
94 finished tunes (melodic trance, goa, ambient...)
377 unfinished projects in fruity
280 unfinished projects in cubase
...and I still suck.
But getting better all the time..and having fun.
i am for a year...still sucks
3 years seriously, 4 years messin about
Since 1994
since 98
Only a little more than 2, methinks. Only recently started to actually get to be any good at it.
At the time this thread was made, though, I had been producing for, at most... two months?
About a year, but only about half of that seriously
Voted 3 years....but actually it's just 2,45 or so
well over 15 years now...
