Whats definite is that Im not going to continue the same musical style. It wasnt bad by any means. Ive just lost interest.

Otherwise, Johan Gielen or Cor Finjeman would be good too.

hi hooman!

from teh original list i would want to see holden (still disapointed after he backed out of WEMF)

taraxo

Posted by discojoe on Aug-26-2003 14:21:

mauro picotto would be way outta budget. BRING IN JAMES HOLDEN.
but I think JOOF would bring in the most people

I agree though, in all my years of partying I've NEVER seen him, and I don't wanna go to Guv this weekend, too packed!

thats nuts, and to think that I got to see him for free, while served free booze at an intimate place like Revival. I consider myself blessed.

bring in John O'Bir

other suggestions would be: Gabriel & Dresden, nu-nrg, markus schulz,

or if you're REALLY looking for something unique, book a live PA by Chicane, UNKLE or Junkie-XL

p.s. make it a 16+ venue plz

Hey Kev, you're so right. I've listened to John O'bir live sets and they are unbelievable

but if I had to choose from the original list, I would go with James Holden even though I'm still pissed off that he cancelled WEMF

Posted by Walter Mindz on Aug-26-2003 15:26:

Matt Hardwick - This guy is definitely one of the best out there.
Robert Gitelman - One half of 2 Players, this guy can spin outstanding sets!!!
M.I.K.E. - aka Push... This guy has put out alot of great tracks through out the years and when this guy spins his Tracklist is amazing, great non-cheesey Trance.
JOOF - I really like his style too, but i think he pre-mixes parts of his set and plays it via CD at his gigs instead of actually spinning the whole time.

Posted by Dennis Hahn on Aug-26-2003 15:30:

Yeah Jon O' Bir is on fire right now, he's solid.. he's within our budget for sure but I'm not convinced he'd fill a club quite yet..

Yeah Ryan, that IS pretty ridiculous... but there are djs that cost almost twice that if you could imagine! And we wonder why Goldclub and Smirnoff are the only companies that can consistently afford these artists!

I'm not sure what happened with Holden @ WEMF.. I was disappointed too cuz I wanted to see him... I hear he's devoting time in the studio and that's why he won't play any gigs in N.A.. it's hard to get European djs to come here to be honest!

Here are some more options..

-Christopher Lawrence
-Tomcraft
-Eddie Halliwell

What do you guys think?

How many people can sound emporium accomodate??

I know it's pretty hard to get the European DJ's over for some reason.
I guess they just don't expect a huge following here and thus don't book as frequently

Posted by Dennis Hahn on Aug-26-2003 16:18:

Sound Emporium is a little smaller than Viva.. holds probably about 1000 people.. that's why we can't afford the likes of Sasha and Tiesto.. unless you guys wanna pay $100 a ticket!

The reason why it's hard to get European djs Ryan is because timing is important. There's more to it than giving them an offer and them accepting it. European djs will only come to N.A if they have other gigs the same weekend, and when all their weekends are being taken in Europe that's hard.. at the same time, it's hard to find a European dj that's in North America for a weekend that isn't already booked up four months from now... combine that with the fact that Fresh Entertainment isn't known on an international level yet it makes it even harder..
This has happened to us already with 2 of the djs that have been mentioned.. so now ya know why!

I'm sure Ari from T.R and Ryan from Destiny encountered the same difficulties when they first started out... just the growing p;ains you need to go through to get where you want to go I suppose!

I would definetly love to see Matt Hardwick back! his viva set was incredible

I think i speak for everyone on here when i say, it doesn't matter who you book or what your budget is, we'll support any trance you bring in

that said, sound emporium is always 19+?

Thanks Elmo, much appreciated!

Unfortunately Sound Emporium is only 19+... if we did a 16+ they'd make it almost impossible for us to pull it off, too many more costs and regulations..

How many of you are under 19?
