i finished listening to cd one..

one word= winner

this is easily the best compilation put together this year

very intelligent and cd1 midway thru the mix has a chunk full of spirit and soul.

i call it a soulsearching mix....very unique and splendid. like a magic carpet ride...beautiful and intelligently crafted.

What kinda stuff does James Holden mix? I've heard of him but never heard any of his mixes. The track list looks very un-familiar, can anyone tell me what kinda "vibe" and "sound" to expect from this CD?

Thanx

Posted by PasteyMoFo on Oct-03-2003 19:53:

Holden mixes progressive, tech house, and good shit.
Vibe? Different.
Sound? Different.

Seriously, this is on par with FSOL's production albums in the 90's.

I haven't heard a CD this good in quite a while.
He's officially the man.

Got this album at home, it's sooo nice!!!!!

Posted by phl1979 on Oct-10-2003 18:14:

CD 1 is by far the best mix I've heard in quite some time. Holden takes you on a real journey, a voyage through a landscape of sound. Intelligent, emotional, what do we need more? Prog at its best.

Favorite tracks: Outhouse, Better Days, Leaving You Behind

P.S. Wasn't Zeta Reticula a Umek disguise?

Posted by court-jester on Oct-12-2003 02:33:

mixing was good, not the greatest, didnt really like some of the track selection especially on cd2...average album at best

CD1 rocks, I always end up playin it. CD2 on the other hand, i'm not too fond of.

King

Negatively commenting on this cd approaches a level of blasphemy not seen in normal humans. Or maybe you'd just be considered insane, either way, an eye gouger for sure. ::blows up::
