Hmmm, Rangers were incredibly poor last night but a wins a win. We can only improve and if we manage to get anything in Greece we will be looking very good for second. Stuttgart had a chance last night and didn't take it, they showed their champions league inexperience!

Yeah, so true...
VfB got off to a nervous start and were lucky to go into half-time with a one goal lead. Two individual mistakes turn the match in Glasgow's favour and VfB paid the price for their lack of experience in the UEFA Champions League.
If we had more experience, we would have won that match - anyway: we still have all chances to reach the next round.

Unfortunately Celtic didn't beat Bayern Munich. In my opinion there were big parallels between the Celtic match today and the Stuttgart match yesterday.

You have to be @ 500% to hope for a good operation @ Bernabeu nowadays, there's nothing to be ashamed off, it was obvious that they were scared to take on the mega stars of Real. I think they'll be much more comfortable @ le Velodrome and there definitely might be something to hope for... we'll see

I wouldn't be surprised at all, Monaco is so extra solid this year.

Well well, we convincingly beat lyon at parkhead. so get it up evry body who doubted the hoops.

I seriously think celtic will now go thru.

i fuckin love the champions league.

celtic out classed lyon in the second half which is somthing i didn't expect to say after a summer of complete inactivity in the transfer market.

Yes Celtic played well in the second half, Lyon played good football in the first half without ever looking dangerous. A defeat at the weekend will bring the Celtic fans crashing back to earth!

Have to say thought, Millers goal must be a contender for goal of the season, immaculate passing and patient probing with a clinical finish!

rangers should really have killed panathanikos off tonight but failed to do so. they may regret that after stuttgarts win tonight.

OMG!!!!! I can't believe it, we beat ManU tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Kevin, Imre, Felix, Timo and all the others - you gave me one of the best evenings in my life.

Don't know how many times I've seen it from Rangers, in control of a game and decide to fanny about for the last 30 minutes. But still, unbeaten so far, theres a lot of teams who would gladly be in our position.

I don't think so at all!

Lyon will beat Celtic @ home and qualify for the next round.

haha trance, the avatar looks nice eh ?

I have a very good feeling about Stuttgart this season. I believe we can be the bundesliga champions and even suprise a lot of critics by going the distance in the Champions League.

I'd like to see Amantidis partner Kuranyi rather than Imre Szabics. However Imre has hit top form and it will be impossible for the Greek striker to re-gain his place in the starting line-up.

yeah they played in a big Euphorie
and if Meira had made the penalty it wouldn't have been such a 'Zittersieg'

I hope that Stuttgart (ever since its one of the only german Teams I li k, remember 'das magischre dreieck' can survive the 1.round

and Bayern out it 1. Round again would be worth another party, hehe
(btw anyone seen the 2-1 goal from Fc Porto which kicked them out in the Euro-Cup competition 86 , hehehe DD )

Grupp F - Real Madrid, Porto, Marseille, Partizan

How sick, if newcastle had removed their fingers from their asses look at the group we would have been in, I could have seen us having a good chance of qualifying.

But my day was made when Man Utd and Chelsea were both defeated SCUM

there isn't a chance in hell you would have qualified from that group.

porto are a very very good team.

lets face it if you struggled to beat partizan then porto and real would have beaten you comfortably.

but more to the point LYTCHIX lyon are not as good as you make them out to be. sure celtic didn't get much of the ball against them in the first half but we romped them in the second. lyon were terrible 2nd half....

it reminded me of another game, Celtic 1 Blackburn 0. when gary flitcroft said and I quote "it was like men against boys out there" reffering to his blackburn team as the men just because they had all the possesion, but in the return leg blackburn were made to look less than ordinary by a very good celtic team. (Don't underestimate their spirit, and imo the best defender in britain at the moment - bobo balde).

Posted by czechstar00 on Oct-07-2003 07:49:

I'm with you on that alpha, i reckon if we actually did manage to qualify that we would def had come second in the group.
Dont get me wrong, i think Porto are a top quality side, but usually in the champions league, having latest previous experience is a huge difference on whether who progresses or not.

But i dont think Newcastle will taste Champions League football for another couple of years im afraid.

Unless our boys can prove us wrong!
