I“ll stick to Vinyl.... They“re all trying to simulate the vinyl feeling but nothing can beat 2 Technics SL-1210 and a decent mixer..

Posted by ArmandoC on Sep-04-2003 13:52:

I can't remember who said this now but they said those aren't going to be in the market until early to mid 2005. So you guys got a lllloooonnggggg time before you can own one. Save your money now .

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Sh*t!!!!!

That is the coolest thing I have ever seen!

It makes my 1000's look so outdated!!

Posted by Asperge on Sep-04-2003 17:37:

that thing is marvellous! the looks are great! wonder how the 'touch' is!

Posted by Dmatrox on Sep-04-2003 17:43:

in my opinion, it looks nice but its too big. May be something to show off as it looks like a high tech turntable, but not practical in the sense of space.

I like it, but i wouldnt buy it theres just no space for two of those.

Posted by Dj onE on Sep-04-2003 17:53:

HOLY SHIIIIIIT!!!!.....SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL....and it supports mp3 cd's ....now im thinkin if i should even but final scratch

.dJonE.

Posted by Nell on Sep-04-2003 18:43:

its almost guaranteed theyll be out in 2004.

as for the space comment, theyre the same as any other turntable size wise.

Its obviously just like spinning a vinyl, only you get all the bonus functions of cds like seemless looping, saving cue points, being able to mix 2 tracks of the same disc, shall i go on? ownage ;]

price will be the only factor, but that wont stop me. i reckon theyll hit the market at £1k per piece (i.e. 2k for the pair) obviously, pioneers will drop in price and so will these after time. give it 6 months after the release date adn you'll be able to get the 3 piece setup inc mixer for £2k or something close

** dribbles **

Man, those puppies are sweeeeeeet

Posted by skip on Sep-05-2003 05:48:

Evil1

they look fine although a bit too shiny for my liking! i'm never gonna afford these though, so

i must save money to get another cdj-100s and a mixer, so i'll never get anything this cool if i don't win the lottery or something!

Very nice..........
But will they be reliable...........
To make up for reliability electronic company's make there products nice and shinny with lots of fiddlie bits to distract the buyer from how good they actually are.
But being technics i'm sure that wont be a problem.

The newest Pioneer DVJ-X1, supposedly plays DvD's!

Posted by Aldrian on Sep-05-2003 07:01:

holy shit

that thing looks awesome and scary. i wouldn't be surprised if this thing of a monstrosity dethrones the mighty cdj1000 of pioneer. i think it will and it looks more professional than the pioneer's. holy caca mama!!!!! 3 grand a unit. man i wish i had those.

you see that is why products like this makes me think in the near future that the vinyl is going to be like the dinosaurs. meant to look cool but not necessarily anymore.

well pioneer's gotta put out something to compete with the technics name.

you can fit alot of tracks onto a DVD. but i don't really know how useful that is to the DJ who doesn't want to put too many songs on the same CD so you have as many options on the next song as you can get.

regardless the CDJ1000 is an incrdible table and i'm sure this one will be also

but technic CD tables. mmmmmmm there so pretty

i guess what it will come down to for me in the end tho is money

Posted by zamson on Sep-05-2003 10:39:

looks nice...but the price

Posted by MoonMan on Sep-05-2003 11:16:

OMG even the platter on them babies is like a SL1200's hahaha, I suppose they are integrating those best features, to appeal to the mass market

Posted by YellowG555 on Sep-05-2003 11:59:

I like how the display is tilted at an angle for the new Pioneer. A lot of times, the CDJ-1000's non-tilt display can make it difficult to see when the unit is elevated.

Posted by Zombie14 on Sep-05-2003 12:34:

those have got to be the sexiest piece of DJ equipment i have ever seen... i doubt they will be 3grand a piece though... they will probally be around 1200-1500$ im assuming... they look so awesome. im still anxiousley awaiting a vinyl / cd table combo... that would be the best!

why?

if you had 2 of these, and record your cds to the same frequency as vinyl (48,000), what advantage does vinyl have?

answer: none!

cd has too many to mention.

Most vinyl stylus' don't go beyond 22000 hz. And furthermore, most humans can't hear above that.

Vinyl has the advantage of reproducing sound on a far more complex level than CD's likely ever will, simply because it's analogue. It's almost like the difference between analogue and digital photography, with digital photos still looking nice for their resolutions, but you can't really compare them to analogue photography, which is molecules reacting directly to light.

HOWEVER...since most music made today is fed through computers before reaching vinyl/ made with DSP synths, I suppose in the end it doesn't make much of a difference. The only real advantage vinyl would have would be if you were using analogue synths recorded on analogue mediums, or extremely high sampled digital formats.

Vinyl still looks cooler though. ;P

I am still waiting for the dvd player, cds are simply not good enough as far as the sound performance but this is a good start.
