awsome series! i have the dvds

if its too complicated, and want something less thinking wise like comedy, i recommend watching Full Metal Panic season 2, Naruto or Azumanga

Posted by [ groovypants ] on Sep-08-2003 03:41:

Another way to tell if a title is a bootleg or not is by looking for the so-called distribution company on the DVD box [ thats if you ever get a chance to have a look @ one before you buy it ] ... Usually, they have simplistic names like: AnimeCartoon or something like that - and if their email doman is @yahoo.com
Also you should be able to tell by the actual artwork of the DVD box.

I've read/heard so much about LAIN, I have the series @ home but havent had time to watch it yet - will try as soon as possible

season 2?? is that after the 1st series.

sothis..(anime guru)
do u know when the new hellsing is coming out.

Posted by sothis on Nov-11-2003 02:18:

digitalbreach, heres a link to the info on FMP:Fumoffu? and screenshots (click the camera) ^_^

same characters, but very different feel.

hellsing season 2 is a very unsubstantiated rumor. ranks up there with the berserk season 2 rumor.. though, at least berserk season 2 has been in official pre-production for awhile ^_^

would be nice, that's for sure. keep in mind though, hellsing stopped originally because of funding issues.

there's been rumors about that since the series ended.
I'll only believe them when it's airing.
I've read the manga. awesome.

Ahhh Lain! I really enjoyed that!

However my memory of enjoying it may be tainted by the fact that I watched it as part of an EVA Marathon where we watched every episode of EVA, then Death and Rebirth, then End of Evangelion back to back. We then watched Lain and Battle Royal after to take it to the next level Not a sensible Idea.

lmfao, battle royal was the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen, funny though.

Evangelion is quite good, one of my favorite series. I have Lain VCD Box set, just haven't gotten around to watching it though.

Also have two box sets of Fushuugi Yuugi. That's pretty funny

BTW, how did you survive that marathon lol, thats gotta be around 15 hours.

Posted by Aya Brea on Nov-12-2003 01:27:

i had to watch the whole lain series twice to understand it

but you need to keep watching, the beginning is a little slow but it gets great.

..wow this post is kinda old

is it on apn hub??? is it better than 1st series and worth dl. I thought first was average.

great site, sothis.

Posted by sothis on Nov-12-2003 19:01:

you can find pretty much anything in apn hub 1 (though, sometimes i have to resort to emule for really, really, really, really rare stuff. even if you cant find slots, if you talk sometimes and try to participate in the community, you'll find people are very nice and will give you slots when you ask, or will try to find episodes for you (in general).

i haven't actually watched fumoffu, but i'm just like you.. i thought FMP was BORING!!!! totally average, and nothing special. i'm not sure why people liked it so much. but, from friends' accounts, the second is nothing like the first... it just is comedy. and some people claim it isn't even that funny, nonetheless.

and thanks! i think my database is quite helpful i spend lots of time on it..

side note:

*vomits all over fushigi yuugi*

Ridiculous oh yes, but at the same time comic genius. Especially when that kid get the axe in the head, gets up and is like Im OK, Im ok! And that has to be the best death scene from anyone when the teacher pops his clogs and then gets up to answer the phone.

One word - Caffeine! To be honest though, at the end it wasnt really watching, but gormlessly staring at the TV while the world sinks into oblivion. Ive honestly felt more alive after really heavy clubbing nights than after that.

The first anime I've ever watched was eva in marathon too.
There's a local anime channel here, and they did an eva marathon weekend. They put the whole series again, and again, and again... from Saturday 00:00 till Sunday 24:00.

Me and my friends spent the whole weekend in a friends house with that HUGE amount of weed, and kept talking shit and watching eva.

We also had the movies on divx.

What a nice weekend...

I found the bagel (foofel or something, im drunk cant remember cant be arsed to look it up again) hidden theme! I am like Vash The Human Typhoon lookin for booze and women when it comes to this stuff.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Nov-13-2003 04:16:

oh yeah, lain kicks ass. I have the series and I've watched it several times, and i still don't understand it. but i love it all the same. wicked animation, great science theories and the thing with the aliens is very cool lain is such a mindfuck series but it's got some intelligent points about the internet and it's really visionary, too, now that we have everybody getting wireless internet left and right.

I like serial lain. hard to keep up with what's going on then again it was made that way. (in the sense of wired vs. reality scenes)

I guess i catogarize it with the likes of akira..don't get it much but still quality anime.

Posted by meriter on Nov-29-2014 21:45:

this was way ahead of it's time... 1998, before the matrix even. Funny those two come out within a year of each other
