"Magic" is a term that basically describes anything that one witnesses but cannot understand.

To someone living 100 years ago, the stuff we are al doing now would be "magic" to them because they don't understand it.

so any conclusions on how he floats in mid air out on the street???? When someone can explain this too me, and no its not camera tricks, then I will be done with this thread. Reason I say its not camera tricks is because people on the street aren't watching TV, they actually react to him floating. WHen is he gonna walk on water??LOL

peace.

Becasue america is soo used to eating 24/7 and chilling in SUVs and there livingrooms its a "big deal" to see someone do the opposite but its really nothing crazy.

He does one of the many simple levitation tricks in the street, but then camera tricks r used to make it appear like hes rising much, much more than he really is.

Wrong....

it IS camera tricks....

He does the small levitation on one foot (simple, search the net for it) and the camera crew get the REAL spectators reactions to the small levitation. Then what they do is, they go bajkc later to the same place, and look at what the spectators were wearing, they wear something remotly the same and film him being lifted by a crane. Why do you think that you dont see the FRONT of the people when he's about 5ft in the air? Cause they arent the same people, c;ever editing, thats about it!

So maybe Blaine can't float... but can anyone explain how David Copperfield can fly? Copperfield's flying trick always puzzled me.

I can explain it in horrible detail (I have seen the patent documents in my rigging class in grad school). Basically he wears a special "belt" that has a point on each side. Connected to each point are a number of pieces of piano wire (I think they number around 50 on each side) which then "fan out" to a circular rig up in the truss above where they are routed to a point where they can be pulled up as one to make him fly. It gives him a wide range of arm movement and the wires are so thin that you cannot see them unless you are close up

Hope that made sense.

My guess is David Blaine has some similar patent documents filed which can be ordered by anyone from the US Patent office.
