-- Thats it! No more commercial and crap Trance for me!
Pages (5): « 1 [2] 3 4 5 »
I don't think so godsfather
I think Psy parties should be publicized and the police should do exacly what it does with the uplifting parties, keep its fucking smelly butt out of it instead for crashing the parties and perform shamless drug searches on the people who only came to party and have some fun!
Hmmmmm i feel that each genre of trance has its place
wether its commercial or not
The commercial trance is bringing trance to more ppl and that has to be good . . .
if they like the cheese then it may encourage them to search out more variations on the trance scene bringing them to where we are now
Nice decent trance, uplifting / epic / progressive / dark /tech / ambient /goa / psy trance etc
it appears to me that some ppl want trance to stay underground and i do see their point, however if it stays too underground how can it progress much further ?
New ppl to the scene expands the scene and surely will be better for all concerned
I love all genres of Trance, i don't stick to any one genre, if i like it i will play it. everything from Angelic to Dumonde, from Delerium to Tomski, from Nosferatu to Astral Projection.
Astral Projection are superb but then so are many other trance acts of differing genres.
All in all what ever your taste in Trance is i don't think it's fair to slate off another type of trance, each genre adds to the whole and that's what it is all about , the enjoyment of the music
Peace
PS. can we jail that Paliver idiot ?
Liquid, I myself am trying to fit myself to the scene
check out this peice... its something i've made to try and fit the current scene.
Get it here!

good luck!!! by the way its a nice tracl u produced... start producing psy....
I have been producing Psy Trance godsfather...
It's the only thing i've produced alone, Psy trance, I don't upload all of them because the scene now isn't a Psy Trance friendly...
gil! i have a room in the taasiya in jerusalem(dont know if u heard of it) anyway i play in thursday (23+) and every party i play psy trance all night... my room is full all night and people stay like an hour after all the other rooms are closed its kinda nice u should come see it once....
I've heared about this club... all my friends from the army who lives in Jerusalem go there, well, if the Oman 17 doesn't bring any famous DJ or Ssahar Zangilevich plays his Jungel Trance again so everyone leaves the club and go to the Ta'asiya
Anyway, tell me when there's a party over there, give me a ticket and i'll be there

i wanna talk to u..
do u have icq?
Psy Trance & Commercial Trance
Hey Gil, first I'd like to say `Nice Track!'.
Secondly though, I have to disagree with you about what you define as
commercial trance.. Over here, in Canada, Toronto specifically, there's very little main-stream trance played. (Maybe one radio station, but last time I listened it wasn't even full-time.) Anyway, all the `big' clubs are more into house, and progressive house, which always sounds to me like trance without the music...
Anyway, stuff like Tomorrow - Duomonde, and the likes are quite rare, and far from commercial... Commercial music here would be along the lines of ATB (not so much right now), and Sandstorm - Darude (progressive house in my opinion)...
Lately towards the end of the night (generally between 2-3am in licenced clubs) I've heard more `trancey' music, which includes Psy trance, and progressive trance, and what you would call commercial trance.
I think the scene is changing, and I think (at least over here), it's changing more to your liking.. But the audience is being slowly drawn from the current top-40 fans, and old-dance/eurodance fans. (Obviously the music you describe as commercial is much closer to top-40)...
I think this is a good thing... (Meaning the way I see it, the underground scene is not really changing much, or getting bigger or smaller, but the mainstream scene, or whatever you call it is slowly shifting towards more trancey-tunes. What you define as commercial is what's inbetween what they're used to (the crowd), and psy-trance.)
Anyone agree or disagree with me? (If you can even make out my point. hehehe.
)

| Originally posted by Gil Shwarts I also said that there are exaptions LiquidX, and as for Astral Projection, can you blame them that they've made a TRANCE track? this is the scene right now, they are trying to fit themself to the scene so they won't lose their publicity, same as Astral, Infected Mushroom are doing the exact same thing, fit themselves to the scene where it is now! and I personally think it sucks man, it sucks bad! but thats only my opinion, also, my 1st post was my opinion and nothing beyond it. I've just said what was on my mind, and whats on my mind is that people should get to know Psy trance better, I think it will make the world a better place ![]() I've spoken about Israel because I live there, i've been to other places but the main thing here is that all over the world, epic and uplifting trance took over the scene and underground bands returned to the forests and shit like that. About my thinking that Psy trance is more emotional... again, its my opinion, there are people who really enjoy uplifting trance and Epic tunes... I myself like them but hey, ENOUGH! every 2 minutes a new Epic or Uplifting trance tracks is produced, how much crap can the scene get? I'm sure you've been to a party where Psy trance music was playing... how was that party? (As one who likes epic and uplifting trance tunes, I think I alrady know your answer but I want you to describe the party for me, if you've ever been to one...) Gil Shwarts |
yer a stupido!!!!

Look where Trance has got! it bacame way to commercial and too much crap is going on in that scene! I wanna go back 10 years back, to where the real bangs were here! The Psychedelic Trance ruled the world! now... all crap trance, come on guys, what the hell has happened to the scene??? Every underground party doesn't take place in a big venue, only in forests and shit like that! I wanna go back to the good old days when Psy trance were the bomb and that crap that is called Trance now wasn't even alive!!! bands like Astral Projection, Simon Posford, GMS, SUN Project, Talamaska, Infected Mushroom and many more perform in such small parties! now you have band like Chat, Push, Dumonde and more that acually are in the top of the Trance scene today but hey, their tracks SUCKS!!! Their tracks are for kids and old guys!!!! NO MORE!!! I Call anybody who thinks the same as me and help me bring back the Psychedelic scene to the world!!! Gil Shwarts! |
Gil, I agree with you 100% ... but I don't think that goa/psy and commercial trance are mutually exclusive. Despite trance becoming worse nowadays, there's still WICKED tracks being produced ... I don't know if you listened to the new Etnica album but I think you would be pleasently surprised.
Also the goa scene is alive and kicking, although on a much smaller scale than it used to be 5-10 years ago. There's still gatherings happening all over the place. And I don't think the commercial trance scene is standing in the way.
Eugene, I don't think you're really qualified to comment on this issue, considering you just described goa as "sleepy". I play goa, and I have tracks that would make you run and hide in a corner whimpering like a little child ... pure psychedelic evilness at 150+ BPM. Please make sure you know what you're talking about before making comments like that. If anything, trance has become a lot slower and LESS danceable in the last few years.
IMO. the real trance has returned underground about 4-5 years ago. The music that is called "trance" right now is nothing but pop electronic music written for mass appeal.
hmm
let's see where this thread goes.
peace

one more thing
And finally...
Whenever someone titles a thread like this
"Thats it! No more commercial and crap trance for me!"
there's a 100% chance that someone will be offended. Not me, not you, but somebody else for sure. This site is supposed to be friendly and we all have different tastes and opinions. So choose your words carefully!
I love psy-trance but I still love the trance most people here listen to. If you don't like certain trance...don't listen to it!!! Simple as that.
Goa Trance is dead, long live Epic! Yeah right.. This is the nature of revolution. Let it be, it has a life of its own. You can't stop it, you can't steer it, and you are not in control. Your venting is just a waste of energy. Enjoy the moment, for that moment never dies. That is what Trance is all about, the timelessness that is untouchable.
I also the like the present producers like Dumonde, Push, Airscape, etc el. I wouldn't disrespect them, they have produced great renditions for the Trance scene.
Outdoor Raves are the best, the best place to meditate and commune with nature when Trance is spinning.
Trance is Eternal.
sigh where to begin
i agree with gil to an extent im fairly new the the trance scene (around a year, and 16 at the time) and the stuff that got me into it was prog. house and stuff but been to goa and stuff i have been exposed to some of it i think its great and i think the whole parties and stuff have an amazing vibe! but yeh dood you are making sweeping generalizations, but you cant blame him it is a opinion and maybe the words he chose just happened to offend some people if it was articulated perfectly i think wed see he has a very legitiment point, dont get me wrong i love push dumonde and all but the whole point it too expand, im sure theres a sense of nostaligia in what gils saying as those parties were probably awsome! but sos the new stuff :P within reason, kinda
Aside from my philosophical comments, I like to say your comments about commercial trance is unfounded. If you don't consider the regional, national and global geographics, you're barking up the wrong tree about the general state of Trance movement.
Take me for example, I am ONE of FEW trancefreaks living in my hometown of Alberta, Canada. Most record stores DON'T even carry the mp3 selection that I have amassed through Internet. My local rave scene DON'T even play epic or uplift style, and I never hear Goa for that matter.
If you are going hail Goa has godly, then name some producers and tracks we could look up.
Peace

You can't blame me for telling my opinion.
Don't you think Israel's mainstream is Epic and Uplifting?
yes it it, at the moment...
now the Tech House and Minimal Techno makes their way into the mainstream... and I feel bad about it, I don't know why, I think Psy Trance and Goa Trance doesn't get the respect they should get, I think more underground bands needs to stand up and say:
"We won't walk quitly into the night, we won't give up without a fight"
and really start making some crazy shit parties all over the country, and all over the world
I don't remember who said it but someone here posted something about Psy trance in Canada or Toronto or something like that, anyway, I have a DJ friend there that I talk to every day (almost, unless i'm busy fighting arabs) and I get alot of uptades about the scene over there, the last update I got was that Psy Trance and Hard Trance rules the scene over there, not Epic and Uplifting, maybe there are clubs who plays epic and uplifting but the mainstream there is Psy and Hard trance (thats atleast what he told me, I havn't been there in years).

That quote is taken from the movie "Indipandance day" (typo maybe??) where they were about to launch their greatest arial battle against the aliens when Will Smith and that other dude went to the mother ship to plant the virus and the president, who was a combat pilot, gave the pilots a speech, that quote is taken from that speech
Anyway,
Thats why Psy trance will never die, Its in the shadows and I belive it can get out, not to be a mainstream but still, I think more people should be exposed to that kind of music and i'm not saying that MTV will now start to broadcast SUN Project's or BLT's music videos (although that will be kinda cool don't you think? an 11 minute music video of banging psy trance on MTV, LOL)
Hhehe
