-- How many agree that Vincent de Moor a better producer than Tiësto ?
Pages (3): « 1 [2] 3 »
YaleTrance's posts are great. They're pretty much the same as everyone elses (that has a clue of course) but made about 50 times as long, and throws in some long words and without fail manages to write something about his great education in music.
So yea, go YaleTrance!
Thanks guys. Sorry if I sound arrogant sometimes, that's what happens when someone ticks me off.
Anyways, I have no interest in downplaying VdM's work. I actually enjoy some of his tracks, even if they are not my cup of tea. Stuff like Nexus Asia and Crystal Clouds doesn't seem to impress me that much, even if they are more "layered" than the typical Tiesto track. Over-layering is easy to do(to the point that producers try to stress this in order to sound more progressive, which in turn is just pretentious because it sounds forced), minimalism and subtleties in the buildup/breakdowns are underrated. This is why I would call Traffic or Nyana more deep, soulful and original tracks than anything VdM has ever done. But hey, that's just my opinion.
Every producer is better than tiesto. Tiesto has made only few good tracks..
Relaxing thread.... funny how YaleTrance is eating all the TA Flamers
tiesto is amazing
vdm is amazing
so they're both =

I think most credits for tiesto productions are for his engineer, cause without this guy his productions would be shite hahahaha

I don't think you have heard of collaberations like Kamaya Painters and Gouryella also he has done lots of solo productions and not to talk about his remixes!!!
cant even compair the two
so to put the icing on the cake......

i agree with some of this, and some not.. like on all his tracks where he has gotten help from, he DOES credit the people who did help him, as shown inside the little books on the DJ Tiesto CD's... i think just most people overlook that and try to state that hes all bad...
but on the main topic, VDM better than Tiesto? you have got to be kidding me... if VDM is better than Tiesto, then why isnt he #1? Tiestos been in the scene for so long and has had a far better career than VDM. I've never heard a liveset from VDM before.

I'd love to say one of them is better than the other but it is not so. It's been said so many times here and It is not further from the truth. You can not really compare Tiesto and VDM. IMO they're styles are way so different. Even though both are trance, to me, its like they are completley differnt styles and forms of music. If honestly there were only 2 cds on this world. One VDM and Tiesto, I would not konw wich one to choose.
ok first off i wasnt hating on vdm simply because everyone is slaggin tiesto, not at all im not that bad!! lol
but in my opinion crystal clouds wasnt good at all if sumone told me it was by vdm i wud have said bullshit, it just sounds very....i dunno its hard to describe! i just dont like it and i think he can do a shit load better.
secondly about the remix of reform, i read it a long time ago like a month or 2 after it came out so i cant remember exactly all that was said but i no for certain that tiesto already had that melody and sound cause that was to be urban train, but when he was asked to do the remix he decided to use those sounds etc for the remix as he wasnt to happy with the production that was urban train, but after he remixed he said he grew to really like the melody and decided to go ahead and reease urban train and he said he was shcoked at the response cause thats now creditied by most as his best track.
dont quote me on where i read it im like 75% sure it was an interview on a website but not fully certain. but they worked closly 2 gether on that one thats y they sound alike, i no that much.
but come on do u honestly think that nexus asia, crystal clouds etc etc is better than urban train, flight 643,nyana etc etc imo these tracks simply are in a league of their own!
