hm, well this is interesting.. i hadnt known that it only really works well if you have dark hair.

my skin is quite fair, but i have blond (or maybe brown) hair. does this mean it wouldnt work well? i plan on getting all of it "down there" done. quite a good investment, as far as im concerned.

the reason it works best with the dark-light contrast is because of the physics of how it works. hair color comes from melatonin (pigment). the darker the hair, the more melatonin you have. the laser works by adding energy to the hairs. the melatonin can absorb this energy (or heat) while the pale areas dont. so the hair, and more importantly, the hair follicle, are absorbing all this heat energy and basically getting burnt out.

if you have light hair not as much energy can be absorbed, especially in contrast to what your skin absorbs (your skin also has melatonin, otherwise we'd be albinos). because of this, they cant use as high of a heat because if your skin absorbs too much energy it will damage your regular skin cells. (burns from this process would come from using too high an energy laser). but on the other hand, if you use a lower energy, there is a chance that the hair follicle wont be sufficiently damaged and hair will be able to grow back.

what happened to me is like 50% of the hair is gone (after 6 treatments) and the rest has grown back very very light if not transparent. this is a huge improvement for me cause i previously had like black hair and refelctive white skin. i can go back for more treatments at a higher energy to try and get the remaining hair but as the hair gets lighter and finer, the less likely it becomes that it will be successful. plus i ran out of money.

why are people so unhappy with the way they look. it always confused me about this hair removal stuff. do you think your friends will make fun of you for having hair on your body? beside, ifyou go to the beach, so what if epople see you, as if you are going to ever see them again

actually, people did make fun of me and make comments, even my mom. she didnt make fun of me so much as admit that i looked like a hairy beast. ppl dont like hair in our society, myself included. plus i have never felt so smooth...

depilatory creams:
nair
veet
epilstop and spray

i also recommend wax. you could do it yourself but the cost of getting it done isnt outrageous.

i don't recommend that laser removal stuff!
there is a new technique similiar to that laser thing which is less "painful" and much more efficient.

its done with a special blue xenon light prism. i only know a german page with informations: http://www.danycare.de

i got my backhair removed with it and it works! nice thing

how many times did you have to go, was it expensive? how long has it been since you had it done?

i get the hair removal for free because i am doing a webpage as a trade, plus its a good friend of mine! but normally it depends on the bodypart and how many hairs do grow... should be nearly the same price as a normal "laser session"

just got the second session with that light thing and i see a clear difference between now an before. it just depends on hair and skin type how effecient one session is. the bigger the contrast between skin and hair (pale skin and dark hair) the better the result. afaik red and blond hairs can't be removed.

watch it long term. mine looked good for like a year but a lot grew back.

ok so i tried to use that cream and it only did about 80% of the job. i stil have some hair left on my body, but most of it is gone. the instructions for using the cream say that if im going to use it again, i will have to in 24 hours. so im gonna finsih it off tommorow, and hopefully ill be 100% hair free.

Owwwo I'm not female but I can only imagine how much that would hurt.

Fortunately I don't have back hair but I get my chest and stomach waxxed (haha laugh at me) and it's relatively cost effective and works fairly well.
