hating your job is bad. i know all about that. try to find the good things in it or you will go insane. for example, be greatful that working on the night shift you dont have to deal with the same beareaucratic bullshit that they have to deal with on first shift cause uppermanagement pokes their noses in stuff.

well think of it like this, you (me) are the supervisor, and you just have one employee that works for you. can you tell one person to do everything? i dont even get to take a break, either does the employee. and its 5 nights in a row i have to work like this. its just so stressful.

hehe how true

life is looking up now for me, i'm nearly at the end of 14 days of solid work, of which i was doing 42 hour weeks, which was well fun

Got a few great nights coming up in the near future where i will get to see some laaaavly people. Also going back to Uni on the 22nd, which is far from a bummer, i get to see some good mates for the first time in ages!

and Butterfly, i will allow you to join in the pornstar fun and games...

Aren't you moving to San Fran soon though? Or is this new apartment in San Fran? But at least you'll got a lot more sunny days right? That always help with my mood somewhat. Plus you're moving to an entirely new city! I'm always excessivley excited trying to find new places to go and places to hang out.

and neither do the majority of the negative posters.

thats what I find weird, all the users I know are actually much happier by comparison

no car (means I am fit)
no job (means my time is my own)
no money (root of all evil)
no girl (not ready for another relationship yet & have become mega fussy)
I gave up smoking (I can breathe again)
I gave up drugs (I can remember my name)
I live at the beach (ahhhh sunset hmmmm summer)
I live on my own (I get to walk around nekkkid)
I have all the time in the world
I am happy & wouldn't want anything to change

What an odd time for this topic to spring up. Depression has pretty much been the definition of my summer. I went to tech. school for about 4 months & quit, now I owe about $7,000 in federal loans. Not so bad except I got laid off from my (undependable) job. Jobs aren't easy to find here either, dead-end describes everything about this fucking place. Another thing that's depressing is being single, but I don't know what to do about it. I've been that way for 99.9% of my life and it's really getting to me. Also, spinning records has gotten old for the time being because I have no cash to buy records. Even if I had money for them I would have to drive 40 minutes to my credit union to deposit the money in so I could use my debit card.

I just don't mope around like some people, it comes in waves (my moods). I've figured out that I need constant change to stay sane but that's not possible here living in a small town area that refuses to get with the times. Aaargh! (sorry for the rant)

Wow, i think i'm a lot more like Misty Kitty!

Eternal Optimist I have bad days of course but i've never experienced depression or anything of the sort. I always somehow manage to find something good about every situation i'm in...
(and just for the record, im an occasional user and perfectly happy about it )

However i have noticed a lot of people on this forum are depressed or have self esteem/confidence, and/or depression problems. I think someone said something about there being a lot more teenagers here which i suppose would explain some of it but i've noticed quite a few people in their early 20s are having the same sort of issues (depression mainly). I wonder why that is... I know it's the end of summer etc but was everything better at the beginning of summer really? or is this just something that is permanently going on?

i'm not depressed. i'm quite content with everything going on in my life. things could be better for me but then again they could always be alot worse. no point in wasting my time wallowing in depression. i try not to dwell on stuff.
