According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the resident population of the United States, projected to 9/13/2003 at 9:31:39 PM EDT is

292,063,524

conservatively there is about 30 mil...divide that by 261 and you get .000009, still a pretty small number.

And the RIAA is looking for sharers with a list of top40 songs to look track down sharers. But then again, in DC++, you can just right click on a user and download a file list

I'm sure the risk to individuals is low, of course RIAA isn�t looking to sue everyone, just enough to scare the majority sharers/ down loaders to stop or severely curtail their behavior. IMHOP I think they'll be successful, but to what degree, no one true knows.

individual's risk isnt just calculated by dividing, other factors, increase ones risk, such as number of files, and about of time dl, etc...
