Yeah, that's one thing I've always wondered about.
People only post lofi clips since they are sending it out to labels. Why? It's not like it will surely get signed if you send it out to someone. Shattered Dreams would never be coming out if we hadn't posted it here.

yeah exactly, its not as if a label wouldnt release something cos a mp3 was on the net, the final release of the record would be remastered anyway and sound a whole lot better. if u do a track you should put it up here, and then when a few djs play it u can then send to labels and go "bla bla he played it etc etc"

my track Foreign Dilusions found its way into Matt Hardwicks chart purely because i put it on the net and people liked it. Other than that im sure it would end up in a pile of other cds that these DJs get in the post.

another thing is, if a track doesnt make it to a label...then please put up a full version like stuff that was supposed to make it and then it fell though, share it :P

You should tell that to Jezper (Airbase)... He makes his lofis as low as 32 kbps (!!) - which makes that all you can hear at best is some hugely muffled synths that only sound good because everyone thinks it's lofi. I agree with you John, Meriva only made it to Neal and other dj's because I posted it around, albeit 192 kbps for a short while.

they say they can't do anything with that tune because it was alrady online...

Yeah, I know, I don't even listen to lofi clips anymore.

jezper, his tracks out there on platipus didnt do much for me, and he has 2 more signed up? seen pics of his studio though..fukin sweet.

Bascially..........if you want to get it signed, post either a lo-fi (96kbps) full track or a Hi-Fi sample...


I know I wouldn't sign a track posted on here in full 192kbps glory unless we could make some serious changes to it....hense 'Shattered Dreams' is now over 9mins long...

I'm sure jezper didn't always have a studio, he made his track Emotion (first airbase song signed) on Reason...

BUT i guess it's only fair to get better equipment went the demand gets higher..

yeah i agree, if a track was potentially getting signed im sure the artist would go back to the original, change some stuff, add some fx and remaster it with elements that the 192k version didnt have. a vinyl will always offer more

i know ill be buying shattered dreams anyway, will it be released in ireland george?

Yeah. I consider all the tracks I post here as demos anyway, I'd sure make changes to my tracks should they get signed (which is higly unlikely).

So true!!! Bren-F has some quality sounds, that is surely hard to match these days, unless you spent years, or many, many months in a studio. I'm a fan of Bren-F, and hope that guy get's some recognition that he deserves!

I believe so....its just a case of distribution as to how many copies make it over there...
