No, I wasn't attacking her or anyone else. You know how I feel about Tiesto, I've seen him 6 times live this year and they were the best experiences ever. And I've been seeing Tiesto live since 2000 and being a huge fan since 1998, but his sets from 2003 were by far the best (for my taste). What set was so awful? The three best recorded livesets from his in 2003 were 4-20 GDJB, TiC and 7-27 Amnesia. Those match the three best sets from Tiesto in 2002 and 2001 easily. I won't go into that whole blabber again, but I have my reasons and you have yours.

ok you have your reasons and we have our's..but that didn't give you the right to call us haters shEEsh

Can't wait to see him here for NY!!

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm Tiesto was AWESOME in 2000/2001...if it weren't for is Trance Energy 2000 set and Innercity 2000 set I wouldn't have gotten into trance at all. HOWEVER, the past two years his sets have gone downhill, Nyana mixing wise isn't well done and doesn't flow like say "In Search of Sunrise 2" or even "Magik 6" or those first two sets I mentioned. Plus his track selection is good but again, no real flow, he drops techno tracks and some breaks tracks in the middle of a set, instead of building up to it. I saw him in June and it was REALLY good tracklisting wise, I had a blast but they still didn't flow properly the way I've heard other dj's like Ferry, or Armin or even PvD, or JOOF. If you like Tiesto, good on ya, I've just lost whatever made me like his music lately.

i'm not a tiesto hater, and i'm not trying to jump on the "tiesto hating bandwagon" either. i just think that either he's lost the skill of producing that he once had, or he's getting lazy. i never thought he was a good dj, but i did love him as a producer. you have to admit, the quality of his productions has gone down. :\

Posted by Allyn on Sep-17-2003 03:28:

FOr reasons unknown, i used to dislike Tiesto. I really don't know why i did, i just did.

Now, i don't dislike him, i'm just neutral on him. I haven't listened to many of his livesets or cd mixes (which makes the top line even weirder) but what i have listened to was never really my taste. Maybe i just got the wrong sets

Can't hate many DJ's now, they all play different styles

i don't agree with that at all though. i think tracks such as Nyana, Barber rework, Radiohead and Skin remixes, and even Traffic ( a track he did for 'fun' )etc. are some the most interesting, unique and forward thinking Dutch trance productions that have come out this year.

Tiesto may have lost it a little in terms of producing, but nyana, skin, traffic, adagio for strings are far better than PVD's recent garbage productions, now thats the meaning of losing it production wise...the only thing decent from PVD lately is connected so don't go trashing tiesto's recent works when th ere are other producers who's recent productions have sucked even more

tiesto is my god

the only post worth reading in this thread is the first one

the rest is mostly a bunch of ignorant ass rangers that think they are cool by putting down the #1 dj

IMO, 2003 has been a better year for Tiesto than it was in 2002. If he retains the number 1 spot again, good on him.

Things DO change, and its only natural to move on. Tiesto grew old of he's old sound, so he moved on - people find that the new sound are not their cup of tea, so they move on too. Let it be.

On another note, me likes Nyana, Faithfulness, and Street Spirit!

What's the point of arguing who is the better producer? It's all personal opinion.

I love tiesto and this year he has been hot as hell in the productions TRAFFIC!!! it is great, he has lived up to number one for the year in my eyes, at first i was doubtful but he earned it i feel, i hope he continues to deliver i will have no complaints

Yea that's what I was thinking, silly tiesto

I voted him for #3 actually...behind PvD and AVB

This a "DJ" poll you know? Not a producer poll.

I saw him live in June and he was good. His set had great flow and it wasn't too techy. Then I downloaded his EM set from Amensia, absolutly terrible. His track selection is nowhere near what it use to be.....

If he's voted the #1 Dj again then people should be really venture out and listen to some other dj's. If they did, they'd realize Tiesto isn't the world's best.....

I wonder if he is going to be #1 again this year.

Also the reaction on my version of Adagio For Strings has been amazing. I made this just for the grand opening for Tisto In Concert but people ask me to play it wherever I go. This past weekend I played it in Athens as one of my last tracks. It was near the waterfront in a venue with around 4000 people. It was 7 in the morning and the sunrise was on its way. An incredible moment I will not forget, 4000 screaming Greeks with hands in the air, sunrise and Adagio playing. I had goosebumps all over!. Moments like that remind me of the reason why I want to be a deejay...

well i was there (hm...this happened in Thessaloniki too, didnt know he played in Athens too, maybe Tiesto was confused? and he meant about Thessaloniki..)anyway nice moment and one of the highlights of the night by ending with his rmx for adagio for strings ...but the rest part of his set was not as good as the last time i heard him...some old-usual tracks and some mixing problems...anyway...i believe tiesto is going to be no.1 again coz of all the "tiesto-madness" but imo i personally prefer Armin! I also heard him live couple of weeks ago and he Rulez! Much better than the Tiesto set i heard last weekend...

(sorry for the bad english and the many stuff i wrote)

Posted by DaveT on Sep-17-2003 09:34:

Tiesto had a rough time in his sets for a little while there, but over the last several months his sets have been grand for the most part. Still my favorite DJ....6 years and counting.

Dave
