| Originally posted by butterfly i've had roadtrips like that.... anyway, i agree it is a fabulous movie and i have been meaning to read the book for ages. when i first watched it i found it really entertaining. but when you think about the message it is sending it is really kind of depressing and hopeless.... |
when i saw that movie i related to it so much cause alot of trips with friends in the early 90's were like that except it was the early 90's club scene of nyc....
God we had no restraint & ingested everything possible with out fear of what was going to happen next.
Of Course it is about 6, 7 yrs later & ive been sober but i can tell u that after awhile i started to view the world & its people in that same whay that depp did..... i started to fear it casue i didnt want to be apart of it. Time To Stop & get A grip on some kind of reality...... after a long period of sobriety my views of the world are forever altered......... I think its good, but i can see how people loose their mind..... I was that close to it..... who knows maybe i am lying to my self & i am really crazier then i know.
GREAT F"IN MOVIE>

it's up there in my all time faves... classic
"WE CANT STOP HERE THIS IS BAT COUNTRY!"
Funny movie.
You cant appreciate what a good job Depp did until you know a little about HST. Depp actually lived with him for 3 months just to get a feel for what he's like. I aslo saw a picture of HST and his attorney taken on that road trip, and Depp looks and acts EXACTLY like him, right down to the hat/glasses/incoherent speech.
