AMEN
Dude, I totally agree Swamper. I used to go to that site, because that was one of the first ones that I would find some new trance songs from, but it was very annoying how everything was zipped, and then when you would unzip it, it would have a tag with the homepage of HOM. It was very annoying when I tried to organize mp3's (got gbs full of MP3s). I remember a site and will go back based on experience with it. And that one, even though it did have some good tracks, I stopped going. You don't have to mark every MP3 with your site. If people like the site, the word will get around, and if they like it, they will be loyal and continue going to the site.
I disagreed with all those rules, extra text and reminders of clicking here, or better do this if not, "I" (he) will stop uploading. You either want to do it or not. I hate going to a site where the webmasters try to baby-sit you or threaten for everything.
I didnt say tranceaddict.com had dead links, what I meant was it homeofmusic had more trance, and it thousands of mp3s that contained no deadlinks. If I compared it to some other site other than tranceaddict....the result would be that a site may have 10 mp3z to d/load but there would be deadlinks, with homeofmusic there's billions of mp3z and without deadlinks....i'm trying to show a statistic here, you get me?

HoM had music? Man I wouldnt know, could never find tha shit!

HOM has a lot of music, yes, but the excessive 'begging' for clicks throughout the site is tiresome - and having the forums located on 'HomeOfMoney.com' makes you wonder...

They regularly stripped out all details pertaining to the MP3 group that released a track and instead threw their URL on practically every line of the ID3 tag..

"It really isn't that hard to rename a file. The majority of mp3's I own have been downloaded from myplay, and I'm sure you all know how badly the files are named when you download them. Much of the time it's impossible to tell what the track actually is! (For instance, G Park - Decedance becomes G.mp3). But I also realise that just because I have to spend 10 seconds renaming the file and the mp3 ID tags that it's no reason to stop using a great musical resource like myplay. The benefits by far outweigh the costs."
Hmm ... Of course I know how to rename the file. Maybe how you only use it as to play the music, it does not bother you to rename them or leave them. I mix MP3s. I search online everyday and find as many as I can to download. When I have over 1k of mp3s to organize, it is a pain in the ass to unzip them, then to rename them, because the person who is hosting the site could not leave it up to the user to name the mp3 as they want during the initial download. That is why I like it here at TA, there is truly no bullshit, I get to rename the file to my liking at the intial download. I get it that it would not hurt to ask for the user to click on a link, but its not cool to remind them at every page, different sections of the page. It is just simply annoying.
Another thing too, I am not talking about downloading from crap sources. We are talking about quality websites (supposedly including HOM). A quality website will see that files are properly named; there is no gray area. Only downloading from napster or other download utilities it is that you will get fucked up ID3tags. But if you download something from a website, and the person who is hosting the site is spending extra time to review the damn songs, you would at least expect that they get the ID3tag naming correct. There is just no excuses.
I'm w/ you Xavier...every day when I turn on the computer the first link I click on is HoM. At first I used HoM just to download music Rrebel posted. Then one day I clicked on the forum. That is when I saw what HoM was really about. Sure the music Rrebel posted was great, but the community in the forum was what really got me hooked. There were so many unselfish people who would really go out of their way to help another member out. I even opened a locker w/ over 200 songs to share, just because I wanted to give back to the HoM community. Don't get me wrong this TA forum is really good too, but it doesn't give me a certain feeling of being part of something like HoM did
. Well I don't want to go on and on about HoM...so I'll leave it at that
Oh yeah Renegade please tell Rrebel to enjoy his well deserved break, but let him know we're all waiting for the return of HoM. Maybe he could just put the forum back up for now and just let you moderators keep it running til he's ready to come back.
