somewhere around 1995/1996, i had my first contact with trance. on Bonzai 5, there's a track called Yves Deruyter - Outsiders, which was way ahead of its time. little bit between trance and hardcore.

I was a huge fatboy slim and chemical brothers fan (as well as other Big Beat), and I was on the 'net talking to someone one day and as usual I ask them for song recommendations. Usually its a new rock song or something like that, but my friend was like "You gotta check this out, Cafe Del Mar by Energy 52." I listened to it and my eyes never blinked for the entire 7 minutes of the song. Amazing. So I guess I've been hooked for around 6 years now...although I still listen to quite a bit of old big beat, rock, and classical music ;P

It all started with Push- Universal Nation. That tune got me hooked right away and I haven't looked back since.

I'm remembering right now another song I heard about 1997: It was FAITHLESS - INSOMNIA. Not trance at all, but is very close to it. I remember that I was asking to all people who have listened to it and nobody knew the genre of this song. 'Is like New Age', someone told me once . From 1997 to 2000 I experienced some kind of 'teenager crisis' and I changed almost everything from my music to Rock and Alternative. BUT, in 2000, I found DELERIUM - SILENCE (Ti�sto Remix) and I became a TRANCEADDICT from there til now

By the way, thanks for all your thread comments, they help me to remember the holy moment I came into TRANCE

the first time that i heard a trance tune and it actually stuck in my mind and meant something to me was Silence (Tiesto ISOS Mix) and i heard it in hartford ct. alittle over three years ago (i think) at a club called System. blew me away. everytime i went there i was waiting for that song. ahhhhhhhh memories.....
